Columbian Places, behind the steps of Christopher Columbus

You will enjoy a wonderful tour for the whole day. Well head to the outskirts of Huelva. You will find out where he passed the Navigator Columbus. Columbus himself was looking for a new way of India. Here he encountered a new continent that changed the way of life of the old Europe. Well head to Muelle de las Carabelas, which houses copies of the 3 naos that went on Columbus first trip. You will visit the Muelle de las Carabelas Museum, as well as the medieval quarter and Encuentro Island.October 12, 1492 Navigator Christopher Columbus called this place San Salvador. Then we will go to the monastery of Santa Mara de La Rabida. Then stop in the town of Moger, where you can see the monastery of Santa Clara.

We were lucky. There were no other people to see the museum and the guide could be with us. She told us all about the house, the poet's life and his wonderful woman even the history of the town. She could speak English and it was so enjoyable. I recommend it.

We visited Moguer and of course, Juan Ramon Jimenez Home was a must...well, I left underwhelmed. Apparently there is another museum that is worth it. The guide was super nice tho.

Anyone interested in the author of Platero y yo, should visit. The guided visit makes it so more enjoyable. The guides are Deeply invested in their job and are experts in Spanish literature. This man was an incredibly cultured and read man. Just looking at his personal library of several thousand volumes w books in 6 languages makes one want to sit down and crack a book.

As the tours are in Spanish we (being English) were given a reduced price and information sheets to view the house ourself. It's well set out, beautifully furnished and gives you a real feel of how it would have been, seems very authentic.
