Central beach in Ericeira - very nice place where people gather to watch the waves/surfers. Sit down and enjoy a coffee/pastel de nata. Lots of families and people come to visit here. Really cool vibe with friendly/family atmosphere. I didn't try it, but I received the tip you can buy fresh fish from the boats down the hill immediately adjacent to the actual beach.

This is one of the best beaches in Ericeira for swimming and sunbathing. Due to its location in a small bay, it has almost no waves and the sea is always calm, and has few or no rocks. Located in the center, it is protected by a wall which provides the absence of wind. Excellent for seniors and children, but is very frequented by young people as well. The only weak point is the fact that it has a small beach and tends to fill quite fast in the summer months - it is advisable to go early to take place.

In Ericeira that would be the easiest beach with Praia del Sul you can go to with children and go swimming. It does not have much waves compared to the other ones and it is often free of surfer.

Great beach however we visited a bar on the beach (kayak bar) and were treated poorly. The staff made it very clear we were not welcome. Stay clear if you are a tourist as there are much more welcoming bars and restaurants in Ericeira

we stayed at the little nice looking bar right on praia dos pescadores with our three little kids. even though the beach bar looked like a very kids friendly place, we encountered the most unfriendly bar tenders there who literally told us „to go back to our country“ because our kids were playing around. luckily, everywhere else in portugal we were welcomed extremely warmly. so if you travel with kids: don‘t even consider going there.

We had our surf lessons at this beach for 4 days. It is perfect for the beginners and the waves are much small than the other beaches but they still can be quite powerful.
The big let down, is the dog mess, it's a real problem in Ericeira. Dog owners let them foul everywhere and don't pick up, something needs to change, this is really out of order when there's hundreds of people walking on the beach in bare feet and children playing.
The authorities need to do something.

Many people, but easy to find a good spot. The thermometer said 25 degrees but feels less because of the wind. And very very cold water

So close to town that you can walk everywhere - so many restaurants nearby - parking can be a bit of a challenge

The main city beach here in Ericeira...the small fishing port is right behind it...makes for a relaxing afternoon here

Although a small beach and popular with both locals and tourists, the atmosphere is very relaxed. We hired beds and an umbrellas from the beach bar where the staff were very friendly. They brought us new beds as some were slightly broken. Excellent service from the staff at the Kayak Bar.

what is there to do for a "mature" lady who doesn't enjoy watersports!!!? but daughter does, hence visit

There is a great town trail - won't take long to complete - but take your time in the hot weather ! Lots of opportunities to sit & relax with a coffee along the route !
