Highly recommend this museum, you might be surprised how talented Nikifor was and how beautifully he painted. His paintings are full of amazing details and colors. A small but very charming museum. I also recommend buying wooden bird sculptures if you like such things as they are done by a local elderly artist

Nikifor was a great Polish painter. It was only at the end of his life that he was recognized as one of the greatest primitivists around the world. He lived alone, in poverty.
Nikifor's work was discovered in 1930. Nikifor's paintings aroused enthusiasm, paying particular attention to flawless color manipulation. The enthusiastic opinions of the artistic community have not changed the unfavorable attitude towards his work - he still did not find buyers for his work and understanding of his art.
In 1947 he was displaced from where he returned three times on foot to Krynica. After the first two returns he was again displaced, the third time he was allowed to stay.

We have visited this museum in the summer of 2014. The museum makes a very static impression. The exposition consists of a number of photos, documents, paintings and sketches of the artist.
During the visit there is a possibility to watch a documentary movie about Nikifor.
The lighting of the rooms is not of a high quality. Some photos are hanging on the walls in the shadow, making it difficult to watch. Another disadvantage is a museum shop. It doesn't offer anything besides a few postcards. Last but not least, there is no place for children where they could learn something about art in an interactive manner.

this small museum has it own charm if you are in Krynica you should visit it for sure! Even when you do not know who Nikofor was you can still learn a lot and spend some quality time there.

doea not matter if you know or dont know nikifor, the artist, you should visit this little museum either to get to know him or simply to enjoy some of his paintings - whats better to do in krynica?

The most wonderful 'OutSider' Art I have seen in Poland. This artist was brilliant. You must read his history to get a full appreciation of him.

I enjoyed my visit in this museum. There were plenty of photos which show life of Nikifor. However, most essential facts about Nikifor were not enough exposed. I mean, if you don't know nothing about this artist before your visit, I am afraid, you won't understand his achievements based on presented details

Very nice gallery and history of life one of the best artists in naive painting. Lots of photos of artists Nikifor. His paintings and stories.
