Not so close to travel from the ferry, now that a LPG terminal has been built in between (and walkers should now consider hiring a bike at least) but still worth the trip. Probably the most interesting of the 3 forts in the area, with some good displays in the HQ building museum (although they could be better lit and have more explanation accompanying them) and opportunity to roam the ramparts and galleries freely. As a bonus, there are also some interesting WW2 artillery bunkers close by which are open and accessible to visit. Take a torch if you have one! Coupled with a trip to the lighthouse, this fort makes a good, interesting half day tour.

Visited fort gerharda in my second visit to swinoujscie. A very interesting afternoon spent there. Made more enjoyable by a very informative guide.

An interesting place to visit, tbe guides are dressed as soldiers and really give a good show, we saw 2 groups (polish tour) and they seemed to have fun. They fire a cannon at the start 😁
Nice collection in the museum, they even have a Flak 88.

If you are interest in history, take tour in that fort. Only bit bad for non polish or german tourist, is that all subscriptions are almost only on polish and german, but anyway nice place.

You have to do experience this with a guide. Great person that becomes a XIX century corporal and tells you stories while doing you a drill. Otherwise it's 3/5. Check the hours of the tours and Enjoy!

My wife and I visited in July 2019 and found it quite interesting. I liked that we were free to wander around the fort on our own and stop to dwell on the things we found most interesting. I really like the museum a the end of the visit. Lots of very interesting military artifacts, weapons, uniforms etc. It's also interesting to note that in the woods along some of the trails to the beach between the fort and Medczcedroje there are many abandoned forts and bunkers. It's easy to imagine how wartime life was wandering amongst the relics hiding in the thick woods.

As Wollin was closed today, we went on to Gerharda. A very good soldier at the gate told us in english about the fort, and did a good job. We enjoyed the walk, and the museum, a little dark some places, and the text required better reading glasses. A translation in English would be nice.

This is a very interesting place. Interesting military architecture in good condition. The property is surrounded by a moat. Inside a whole lot of exhibits from the war period. The way of presentation, tours of the facility are also unconventional. This is an interesting adventure not only for history buffs.
