About
When the Italian culinary traditions meet the sounds of the best Arias of Italian Opera in a beautiful location and exclusive event. Much more than a cooking class, this is a multi-dimensional experience. “Opera in The Kitchen” grew out of a childhood memory spent in the open air. The smell of freshly cut herbs, a passion for traditional cooking, and a blissful atmosphere of the melodies of Italian Opera.

The grounds are lovely (if a bit hard to find) and the small group size made it feel intimate. Our hosts were very nice, and the dinner was delicious. However, we were expecting a bit more of a hands-on learning experience. It felt more like when you have little kids in the kitchen and they "help" you cook. Most of the actual meal preparation was done by the hosts and we did only a few token things here and there. I'm not even entirely sure that what we were served later for dinner was actually what we helped cook. But the meal was very good, as was the wine, and we really enjoyed the singer.
Overall, I felt it was rather expensive for what you get (we also had teenagers who did not drink alcohol but were still charged full price). They sent a link afterwards with recipes, but it was a generic "here are our recipes" rather than the specific things we had made/eaten (lots of recipes we didn't use and several of the dishes we did have were not included). It was a fun experience though.

Please do this tour. You will not regret it, even if you are not a fan of opera music, this tour will make you a fan. Lucrezia is an amazing host who is very knowledgeable of her craft. To see an up close video, check out my youtube channel, "Not Your Average Abroad" and look out for my video, Epic Trip Through Tuscany. Hope you enjoy your visit!

We were picked up at 3.30pm from our accommodation in Florence and taken to Lucretzia’s home in the Chianti area, where we met our fellow guests.
We spent the next couple of hours helping to cook pizza, carrot soufflé, pasta with pesto and zucchini, chicken, egg plant melazone and apricot crumble.
When the cooking was done we retired to the garden for olive oil tasting and Prosecco.
We enjoyed the five course dinner in the garden as the sun set. The highlight of the evening being was live Opera music with desert.
This was truely a night to remember, Lucretzia is an amazing host. If you want a special experience that isn’t run of the mill, consider Opera in the kitchen 🍸

I highly recommend this experience. We drove to the venue through the Tuscan countryside. Once we arrived, we harvested vegtables for our meal in the garden. Along with a first class chef, we cooked our 5 course meal in the beautiful country kitchen of the farmhouse. The highlight was making homemade pasta from scratch. Dinner was served with wine on a lovely set table that faced a magnificent sunset. To top this off was the OPERA. A harpist and a soprano sang some lovely popular arias. I can't recommend this highly enough.

What an amazing experience. Our group of 7 ladies had the most enjoyable time. The Tuscan countryside was beautiful and the venue was beautiful. We picked vegetables first and then began cooking. We made focaccia, cream of asparagus sauce, hand made pasta, prepped veggies for chicken vaccinators, and apple crumb torte all from scratch. Lucrezia and Matteo are amazing foodies and turned all of this into an absolutely elegant meal in the lovely farmhouse at sunset. The setting and service was exquisite. The piece de resistance was entertainment by a soprano opera singer and a harpist. This was remarkable and unforgettable.

Lucrezia and Francesca are the sweetest kindest hosts ever. We had amazing wines, cooked a delicious dinner ourselves and then were served while we were listening to the most magical opera. Highly recommend this experience. Beautiful surroundings and magnificent food!

What a beautiful, authentic experience!! First of all, the location is absolutely magical. This is what I pictured in my head when I thought of Italy!!
Secondly, Francesca was such a dear woman with a warm personality - she was patient and really loves what she does. She was attentive throughout the entire experience and really showed us the best customer service. I have to say, that she was the nicest person we met on our entire journey throughout Italy! The food was incredible - it inspired us to cook more when we get home and use fresher ingredients made from scratch.
And the opera performance just made the night unforgettable!! She was a fanatic performer and it was basically like having front row seats to a private concert and the songs brought tears to my eyes, they were so beautiful!!!
Overall, it was worth every penny and I’m so glad we included this unique experience into our travel plans while in Italy. It was truly a wonderful taste of Tuscany!!

What an amazing night! we were a party of 13 friends who had the pleasure of cooking and dining at Lucrezia's home. The views were spectacular, the class was so fun! We learned from Matteo and Lorenzo their food craft. The dinner was delicious while Lucrezia was a phenomenal hostess. The wine, the opera and harp put us over the top! This is a must try if you are in the area - one of the best events during our trip.
Thank you so much for opening your home to us :)
