Centro Ippico della Berardenga

Centro Ippico della Berardenga
The Berardenga Horse Riding Centre, in the hearth of Chianti, a few kilometres from Siena, is an elegant and professional riding school. The Centre has been recommended by Ian Stark. Sadio and Donatella personally assist and receive their guest and riders. They speak French and English. Sadio and Donatella have been running the Horse Riding Centre since 1992, and it is recommended by FISE (The Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports). The riding school offers accommodation in the organic farmhouse, fully certified, open to anyone seeking for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany, just a stone's throw from Siena and Florence. Sadio and Donatella have transformed their passion for animals and nature into a professional activity by creating their Horse Riding Centre with an Organic farmhouse in an uncontaminated valley of Chianti reserved for you and the horses. Their professionalism comes from their experience of around twenty years in the field of horse riding, with work experience in Italy and Europe and numerous licenses for this work, making Donatella a highly qualified teacher and sensitive to the needs of the students. The guests have at their disposal a large living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, 3 bedrooms with a bathroom and family suite with two bedrooms and a bathroom. Completing the structure is the club house, a changing room and a laundry. We offer accommodation and breakfast, the kitchen is available to the guests, Guests can choose one of our 3 apartments, Alloro, Big Walnut and Cottage. On request our "Breakfast Basket" including also our home made bread, Walnuts, yoghurt and cake and also our hens eggs!!! We have at guest's disposal a list of restaurants and some good recommendations.

A pleasant Agriturismo with great horse riding
Jul 2020
Donatella's and Sadio's horse riding Agriturismo was a very pleasant surprise. It's located in the beautiful Toscan hillside, close to an ancient medieval castle and surrounded by creeks and forests. Both of the owners are patient riding coaches, pleasant and helpful. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves, and really enjoyed all the benefits. For breakfast, we were greeted by a mix of hens and cats while the two dogs (Cicco and Lolla) accompanied us throughout the day - Cicco even tagged along for the riding adventure to the castle. Our daughter absolutely loved the riding lessons and will surely try to manipulate us into coming back!

Wonderful Tuscan riding adventure
Apr 2019 • Family
We had a wonderful few days riding and exploring Tuscany. Sadio and Donatella were perfect hosts, full of enthusiasm and friendliness. The riding instruction was carefully judged to encourage and develop skills for children and riders of any ability. The food was amazing - all the very best of Tuscan cuisine. As well as convenient for all the key sights the centre is in a beautiful, fairytale valley with castle, fields and woods. House is lovely and cosy too. Would highly recommend for riders or just as a way to explore and enjoy this part of Italy.

Riding in Tuscany
Sep 2017
I cannot recommend this place highly enough, particularly for any serious riding enthusiast. We were six advanced and intermediate riders and not one of us had a single complaint. The quality of horses, the care they receive, the terrain thru which you ride, the hospitality of our hosts, the accommodations and the food (ahhhhh, the food - Italian home cooking by Roberta). All exceeded our expectations. Donatello and Sadio were always there to see that we had what we needed and flexible; we even swapped an afternoon ride for a spa trip mid-week. There aren't enough stars to give.

Paradise in Tuscany !
Sep 2016 • Couples
My wife and I spent a week at Centro Ippico mainly to improve our riding skills and to get a taste of Tuscany. Sadio & Donatella are truly committed in providing excellent tuition in Horse riding and Hospitality and that is a rare quality these days. The horses are well trained and the country side is beautiful. Donatella is exceptional when it comes to teaching beginners and has a keen eye in spotting techincal deficiencies. The accommodation is very comfortable and the food was lovely. Truly great value for money and we can't wait to go back there again. Thumbs up to Sadio and Donatella ! Highly recommended !

Trekking in Tuscany
Sep 2013 • Friends
This equestrian centre is in a beautiful rural area of Tuscany. Unlike many of these riding holidays we didn't have a whole day off, 2 full days out and 4 half days. The rides were fabulous and the scenery wonderful although I have never before cantered on a hard road surface! Sadio and Donatella are lovely hosts and could not have been more welcoming. However, the accommodation and meals were very basic. Lots of pasta but not much meat. A basic breakfast with the only fresh fruit being the same bowl of apples which sat on the sideboard all week. The central heating had been turned off that week (it was April) and the rooms were quite chilly. Towels were thin and not changed at all. It would also have been nice to have had the same horse for the whole week but that wasn't possible, although I did manage to have the same one for four days. I would not recommend this place for a novice as the horses were quite flighty. Not sure if it is really good value for the money.
