My husband and I contacted Daniele last minute and he was able to fit us in for a lovely morning hike around Montereggioni (an easy drive from our hotel in Siena). We walked along the old pilgrim road via Francigena, past vineyards, olive groves, and farm houses. Towards the end of the hike, we broke from the old road and... More

I very much enjoyed my day in the field with Marco. He is very knowledgeable about the birds of Tuscany - where to find them and how to identify them - and has a very engaging personality. I would certainly like to go birding with Marco again.

The minute we meet Marco we knew we were meeting a special person. Marco is a guide full of knowledge and passion for Italy. He is knowledgeable in nature, history, and the culture of his homeland. We had a great day birding, learning about the history of the land, and enjoying the views. Not only is Marco a great guide... More

Our travel group of 13, with kids ages 8-14, hired Marco for a relaxing family hike. Coming from Montepulciano, it was about an hour drive, but well worth it to be out of the hot sun in July. Marco took us on a 3 hour hike through a cool forest, showing us natural rock formations and educating us about Italy's... More

My family and I visited Arezzo and met with Marco at our hotel from where he took us on a birding tour of the surrounding countryside. We also visited ancient villages and had lunch atop the mountain at a beautiful scenic trattoria with panoramic views of the area. Marco was a pleasure and very knowledgeable not only about the local... More

I came with an Israelis group to hike 7 days in Tuscany. Marco Valtriani was our guide. Marco was able to choose excellent hikes. He had to adapt the hikes to weather and abilities. During the hikes we stopped for explanation near interesting cultural sites. Marko English is excellent and many insight about life and culture in Italy. It was... More

My wife loves birding and I like hiking. Marco was an excellent guide for both. He's very knowledgeable about the area, the birds and pretty much everything. He's also super easy to be with and very accommodating. I'd highly recommend him.

My wife and I hired Marco for a day of birding and nature in June. We took a pleasant hour train ride from Florence where Marco met us wearing his binos so we recognized him immediately. We spent the day at a leisurely pace with short walks and a great mix of birds, landscape, history and archaeology, just what we... More

I hired Marco to take me birding for five days and had a great time. He arranged our travels to fit my interests really well and I was able to not only enjoy the birding but the beautiful countryside, historical places, and lovely old towns and buildings. An added bonus was that he was gracious enough to pick me up... More

We were a group of family and friends with one young child. I saw the reviews on trip advisor and emailed Marco one evening. He met us the next morning and we had a very nice and long hike (although somewhat muddy due to recent rains) around La Verna mountain. It was deserted and peaceful after spending several days in...
