Unfortunately the Tower was closed and there was no way that I could know when it would be opened to the public. I just went around it from the outside and I must say it's a gem of a place and it's a pity that it was closed. Not much in way of sights but has a bit of history. The surrounding Piazza and restaurants / bars is a nice place to hangout in the evening.

The evening I went local kids were the tour guides and they were very enthusiastic and informed. The entry was free and the tour was not long but I enjoyed the experience. This fort could be developed further but I think the same can be said about a lot of the south of Sicily. Lots of tourism potential.…

Then Tower possesses immense history vital to this port city and it is great to visit and learn about the history here. However, the town of pozzallo is still learning how to a tourist town and does not take advantage of this gem. Include some information in other languages and employ someone to explain the history. The surrounding beaches are fantastic and highly underrated in the context for world beaches. …

I loved photographing the fishing boats moored near the Torre. It's the focal point of Pozzallo. Unfortunately, I just don't think that the townspeople really appreciate the beauty at their doorstep. Each time I visit I see more and more graffitti encroaching on the historic and ancient buildings. Sigh....…
