Visiting Notto seems to be quite easy.
You will just walk the main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, from one end to the other one and you will see on both sides most of the better attractions in Notto.
You will probably, no, certainly, stop at Caffe Sicilia, one of the best conditoria in Sicily and anyway the most famous round, having there one of their special cakes or a granita.
And you will see Notto Cathedral, Chiesa di San Domenico and the adjoining Fontana d'Ercole, the Palazzo Ducezio and many other beautiful masterpieces of architecture like this church: Convento San Francesco d'Assisi all'Immacolata.
Stop there, get inside and enjoy.

There is nothing to say about the buildings along this part of the street that outstanding. Architecture, light coloured stone and on a sunny day it is like magic.

A beautifully curated and installed exhibition in the beautiful former convent. Including pieces by Rodin, Marini, Moore and others, a ceramic piece by Picasso and two sculptures by Modigliano (with an intriguing notice stating that they are subject to investigation, having been bought in good faith by the current owner but possible stolen).

As with most of the Baroque churches in Val di Noto, San Francesco is a bit understated inside, but still with many interesting details. It is dramatically positioned at the top of a staircase, which makes it an unmissable sight.

About halfway between Porta Reale and the cathedral, this beautiful church which was formerly part of a convent is accessed by a three tier flight of steps. Built in 18th century there is a lot of interest to see - artwork, statues, shrines. Closed between 12.30 and 4.30 so time your visit to avoid those times if you want to go inside.

All of what you would expect, much better to visit here than the cathedral as it has masses of character, windows, shrines etc.

Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi all'Immacholata was first on our "church trail" of Corso Vittorio Emanuele starting at Porta Reale . It was builtin the first half of 18th Cent. and it is very impressive with the three levels staircase leading from the Corso to its door .
Please note the lovely small Vecchia Fontana dell'Immacholata, on the little square to the right of the church . And on the left also note the towering figure of Monastero del San Salvatore with "its only a facade" third floor wall .
