Between the theatre and the church you can find a beautiful fountain. Located near a tall pine, it is really nice

Not to be confused with the restaurant, as this listing is under 'Sights & Landmarks, Fountains'. Contacted Tripadvisor about the restaurant reviews incorrectly submitted on this listing over a month ago and nothing has been to correct them.
The 1757 Fontana d’Ercole/Fountain of Hercules is located in Piazza XVI Maggio, in front of Chiesa di San Domenico. It was designed by architect Paolo Labisi and sculpted by Giuseppe Orlando. The fountain shows Hercules having a drink after defeating the Nemean Lion. According to the Tourist Office website, the coat of arms of Noto which Hercules has his left arm around, was included in 1838, he initially held a club in his left hand. In the process of removing the club the lion was also removed, however a portion of his limb with claws attached couldn’t be dislodged, and can still be seen resting on the groin of Hercules. The fountain also has dolphins and sea creatures which look like putti. There are unsubstantiated theories the statue was from the original site of Noto, (now Noto Antica) and survived the earthquake.
Each side of the fountain are monuments to Noto notables, the bronze bust is statesman Matteo Raeli (1812-1875) and the marble bust is poet, Mariannina Coffa (1841-1878).

Beautiful statue in the heart of Noto, constats well with the ochre tone of the place!
A beautiful homage to the Ancient Greek past of the vicinity of Siracusa!

We waited 1h more than the hour of our booking..furthermore, they made a mistake, they gave my order to the table just next to ours and was obliged to eat sthg I haven t ordered.. and they were unpleasant..I would prefer to eat sthg average and to be treated correctly..even if, honestly, nothing was special about their cuisine..:

Excellent starters and maincourse. For starters we had fried veggies (aubergine is what i remember) and different types of fried cheese which was tempting. For maincourse veal and seafood pasta and both were really delicious. This place gave good impression to Sicily food :) Place is small and cosy and tables were all full. The waiter was just right.

The city of Noto is very interesting with many historical sites such as the Fontana d’Ercole, quiet village , well preserved, attentive and friendly people

As a couple we ate a wonderful starter of mixed fish (raw and cooked) and a second course each. The grilled squid, although excellent, was definitely too poor.
Overall fair price and excellent products.
