- FrancoGnamGnamFriuli Venezia Giulia, Italy60 contributionsMotorhome stop near the spectacular Bay of Turks. For EUR 40 per night, we took the large pitches, with private tap and cold shower and increased electricity (I think 4 or 5 A), hot showers for a fee. New and clean toilets. The pitch was one of the few with shade almost all day. I would recommend some artificial solution, pending the growth of the trees. The stopover also offers a restaurant service, where Manuel offers , in addition to a good cooking menu, also his own truly remarkable craft beer.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 8, 2024
- John Holiday6 contributionsOn the sea and the location nothing to object indeed very nice, clear and clean sea even if rough. You have to pay 6€ parking then 1€ per person for the train and 10 minutes walk in the pine forest. The bay is very picturesque. Negative note for the services offered on site and the management of the beaches. However, there is the possibility to stop on the free beach if willing to carry umbrellas etc. Very nice location.... tourism is managed with competence and courtesy and these do not improvise.Visited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 25, 2024
- donato maria vi... qBari, Italy19 contributionsBaia dei Turchi so called because on its coast landed the Turks who massacred the inhabitants of Otranto. For this reason, the Resort’s beach is a protected, unspoilt and bar-free area that shooting ball music would only break the charm of the place. The village is a bit dated but you immerse yourself in a magical atmosphere. Children under 12 years (I think) are not allowed and this contributes to living the holiday in complete tranquility. Professional welcome, oriental style rooms, would not hurt greater attention in cleaning. The dinner is an explosion of flavors and for all tastes, attentive staff to the needs of customers and coordinated by a true Pro of the sector Mr. RENATO an added value of the Resort, his presence in the room, always discreet, has contributed decisively to my complete satisfaction. The animation should be reviewed a bit probably because of the inexperience of the guys. If someone asked me if I would go back I would say YESVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 6, 2024
- Picci1978Gallicano, Italy10 contributionsA paradise still untouched reachable after a short and easy walk. Transparent aqua and clean sandy beaches. I recommend rock shoes useful to go down to the first cove, (the least crowded and not equipped). At the end of June few people even on Sundays, and if you feel like a coffee just walk a little further along the bath-dryer! On the main road to Otranto., before entering the paths there is 'convenience store / grocery excellent stop to get ready-made dop or puccie sandwiches at more' than fair prices!Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 8, 2024
- Stefania D36 contributionsBeach among the most beautiful in Salento. Sea of a thousand shades of blue and light sand. The best time to enjoy the sound of the sea and the scent of the pine forest is in June and September. To get there there there is a convenient parking where with 5 euros you leave the car guarded in the shade of the trees and you also have the convenience of rinsing away the sand from your feet with a shower nearby, and then follow a path through the pine forest to reach the sea, which is very close.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 24, 2024
- Companion126479654854 contributionsFirst time at the Bay of Turks.. Arrived at the first parking lot they practically blocked us and forced us to enter (we entered thinking it was the only parking lot) with the dirty shuttle they took us up to a certain point and continued on foot the show that presented itself in front was exceptional in the afternoon c there was a thunderstorm so we had to leave running directions 0 we got lost in the pine forest then helped us two employees of another parking lot. De Benedetti parking not recommendedVisited September 2024Traveled with friendsWritten September 6, 2024
- Climber80003619 contributionsBeautiful scenery and sea, especially in the morning. To get there you leave your car in a park, at a cost of 6 euros. For 1 € per person you can take advantage of a train (return) that leads from the parking lot to the pedestrian path accessing the beach. From there you walk for at least ten minutes, in the middle of a pine forest, to get to the beach. The signs are unclear and a little hidden, so we advise you to be very careful not to get lost!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 16, 2024
- Olga riccioItaly27 contributionsBeach in its natural state where you can enjoy a landscape still wild as there was no human intervention. You have to pay attention to the parking as soon as you arrive they offer you a last parking that costs 6 euros plus the paid shuttle. Actually there is further on another parking that costs 5 euros and is near the beachesVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 23, 2024
- ME AROUND THE WORLDCatanzaro, Italy241 contributionsVery wild beach. There are 5 minutes of hiking to get there and cars can be left in private car parks for 6€/day The beaches have both public and private areas... the private ones a bit scrambling No shower and bathrooms not at maximum cleanliness Cost umbrella and 2 sunbeds 30€ Definitely economic demand superior to comfort The beach, however, deserves to be seen (with the right expectations)Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 19, 2024
- NicolaPaolucciFrosinone, Italy3 contributionsThe sea is spectacular as is the beach. Important note is to pay attention to the wind that blows as the sea was quite rough. Quite negative note, the amount of people present. I personally woke up at 7:30 a.m. to be on the beach at 9:00 a.m. and it makes me a little gnarly that people who arrived late in the morning, have to place themselves practically on my umbrella. Clearly experience made in August, so in high seasonVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 10, 2024

Crystal clear sea. You can find both beach and cliffs. To reach the Baia dei Turchi you have to take the small road in a pine forest (I don't recommend it with very young children) and a route that can be a bit tortuous in slippers. Free and shaded parking along the pine forest. Avoid the first parking attendants, who are grumpy and rude, slightly further on you will find a car park with a daily rate of €5.

Needless to say, in theory, the beach would be very beautiful with a beautiful sea and fine sand (although, honestly, although I have never been to exotic locations like the Maldives or Seychelles, but having seen many in Sardinia and Greece, this is definitely not to remember). Unfortunately, the theory clashes with the reality of an overcrowded and unlivable place that makes any beauty disappear in an instant. Add to this non-existent services, dirt, arrogance of those who rent an umbrella for 40 euros regardless of the row, impossible and expensive parking. As long as it holds ... but I fear that sooner or later tourists, Italians and foreigners, will tire of being squeezed to stand on top of each other everywhere, and then the web will destroy the reputation of many places as quickly as it created it.

it is possible to park at a cost of 5 euros all day. The car park is 1km away from the place. The path that leads to the Turks' bay is jagged but covered by trees, along the way you meet people selling fresh water and various souvenirs. The beach was super crowded, it is advisable to get there early but you can always find a place to lie down (the beach is very wide). The sea is wonderful, crystal clear and turquoise colours, it is worth going there.

Beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear waters. Amazing views and different shades of blues with a long shore. The place was packed with tourists but we decided mainly for our comfort to rent two lounges and an umbrella which was really worth it.
You will need a good 30 minutes walk to get to the beach as the parking lot is far. Remember you will need to walk back the same path to get to the car but it was really worth it. Highly recommended beach to go to.

Beautiful sandy beach, with cliffs behind it and very clear, blue sea. I wanted to help those who are new to this bay like me, as the bay is very long and offers several choices. From Torre dell'Orso towards Otranto: the first directly accesses the private beach, the second indicated on the sign with "free and equipped beach" accesses the beach with a comfortable 3-minute walk in the pine forest (then I'll post a photo of the parking lot) the third which I don't recommend unless you want to go trekking, 1.5km of pine forest and down to the beach from the cliff. They don't help you there, everyone gets their own way for parking, but the central one, which is comfortable and clean, was the best choice for us!

Pension closes in 2 days, tired staff, impossible to buy anything, aperitif served you without anything not even an olive and if you want to buy there are no, very dark rooms, Pension is far from everything, tiles go from the pool, food bof!!! No public transport at this time, very sound room, not worth 4 stars, the staff at the reception remains friendly, but that is not everything,
In short very disappointed!!!

The beach in my opinion is nothing special,(i am from Taranto) to get there is not easy.
Parking is 6e and for only 1e return eper person you can be dropped at about 200m from the beach by a cute train that even my teenages liked. On the way back it was offered to us a toilet to use which you would definitely avoid, and somewhere where to wash your feet free of charge, shower with extra charge

We went there very early in the morning in order to take two beds and an umbrella. We spoke with the owner of the only one available lido on the beach. She said that there was availability and we asked to pay by credit card. She looked at us like two weirdos and she didn't accept the payment by credit card. Unfortunately only by cash(which is illegal). The excuse was about the card machine didn't have the right coverage to process the payment. My phone worked perfectly three metres to the right. We had just a few coins with us and I had to manage to deal with a guy on the beach in order to buy an umbrella and place it on the free beach. In a couple of hours we were sorrounded of thousand people. They just care to fill up the car parking without thinking that the capacity of the beach is just for the half of the size of the parking itself. At 2pm we left!
The water is beautiful but it's not worth the experience.

Just the drive through the vineyards and forests to this beach is beautiful. There is a large spacious parking lot (5 euros per day) with trees for extra shade. Then you walk through the last piece of forest and you arrive at a truly beautiful beach with a clear blue sea (indeed, just like the Caribbean). Many sunbeds can be rented at the rescue stand (2 beds and parasol 25 euros) and also the free beach with beautiful rocks behind it. It was very busy when we were there, but we found a spot at the back where we could put our parasol. You can swim there and the toilet is free. We think it is recommended after a morning visit to Otranto.

Wonderful, divine beach! Water with 3 colors, great! There are 2 parking lots, stop at 2, a little closer, 5 euros. It's a 1km walk and another trail but it's worth it a thousand times over! Near the beach there are stairs to go down, umbrellas and 2 chairs for 25 euros, and a place for a snack. Great, very tasty! It also has a bathroom.
