Beautiful cafe in the heart of Monopoli. We have made this cafe our go to place for many years.This cafe is set in a lovely piazza and has a lovely buzz about it. It seems to have undergone a change of management since being closed last year. The redesigned stylish new interior is beautiful and a great improvement. Sadly the experience was marred by poor staff attitudes. No smiles, no information and monosylabic replies to requests. We ordered 2 cappuchini and 2 cornetto. Reply "we dont have any left" ok what do you have? "Muffin " ok we will have two please. When we wanted to pay the bill we were directed with a wave of the hand "dentro".. On entering we could see a display of a choice of muffin and cakes that we would have happily had a look at before ordering. On paying, no smile or eye contact. Must do better. My Italian husband was disgusted. He has worked in the Restaurant service for more than 40 years and knows bad service when he sees it.

Stopped for lunch. The food was good and portions were large. But the service was moody and slow. Went and helped ourselves to menus and then had to ask three times for the bill. Not an unpleasant place to wait but when you're roasting it's uncomfortable.

A huge disappointment. The location does not live up to the name that names it or maybe it does. We are not in Venice but paying 27€ for two Venetians and 1 mineral water is inconceivable. Among other things, there was very little but a lot of ice in the Collins glass! Not to mention the embarrassing appetizers: a bag of chips and a bag of tarallini! I'm sorry, but that kills tourism!

Experience considerably worse than last summer, I will not return. With some friends we had the bad idea to stop for lunch, there was almost nothing left of the menu on display except a dish called chef’s fantasy because ‘empty kitchen’ looked bad. Semi-frozen fried meats and cheeses that shared the dish with mismatched pickle experiments. Finally, I pointed out to the waiter that our dishes were devoid of the buratta observed on the plates of the table neighbors, perhaps the only element that could give a minimum of dignity to the dish, the observation must have troubled the waiter who never returned.

Very impressed! Good attentive service, all good speaking good and polite English. Two of us had pasta and agreed it was some of the best we’ve had in a very long time!

We had an excellent experience in this fairly large restaurant in the heart of the tourist area. All our food was very good and the servers were very friendly and attentive. Prices very reasonable. Large outdoor seating and also some indoor seating.

An excellent place to stop for lunch, the service is excellent, as is the lovely food. Very fresh and tasty. It has been the best "pranzo" we have had in Puglia!!!. Highly recommended.
