Kefalonia Island Tour

28 reviews
Commence a scenic island drive through olive groves, vineyards and thick cypress glades. Passing through the Mount Aenos you will visit the Robola Winery and taste the famous Robola variety of wine. Explore the Drogarati Caves, famous for their acoustics. Visit the geological phenomenon that is the Melissani Lake which is in an underground cave. Next, we go for lunch to the cosmopolitan village of Fiscardo, untouched after the great earthquake of 1953. Leaving Fiscardo you will head to the little fishing village of Assos, which gives the impression of being an island of its own. En route on our way back, you’ll make a photo stop at Myrtos Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

What you will see:
• Robola Winery – Visit inside, wine tasting
• Drogarati Cave – Visit inside
• Melissani Lake – Visit inside, boat ride
• Fiscardo Village – Lunch break (optional)
• Assos Village – Coffee stop
• Photo-stop at Myrtos beach

Lepeda Beach is a good beach for families with some shallow areas but the water wasn't very clear with some seaweed and stones inside the water. I think we were spoilt with the beach in Lassi and so it was never going to live up to our expectations.

Gorgeous shallow natural pools which are great for kids and have really warm water. There are lots of sun beds with umbrellas but it’s €5 for 2 beds and one umbrella for an hour I think. Sand got very hot!! But was lovely. Also had a nice volleyball court which was free to use and a lovely cafe in the shade (although relatively slow service). Also good snorkelling around the rocks there!! Places to jump in off the rocks as well if you are feeling brave and follow the locals. Overall a nice long beach to visit.

A family beach very good for kids due to the shallow water and natural pools behind the rocks formations. There are a few sunbeds and umbrellas. The parking space is limited. In the afternoon there are enough natural shade. The beach is unattractive for snorkeling.

A lovely, not too busy beach with a great taverns right on the beach. Sun pointers were inexpensive and there's a great shallow but by the rocks that looked great for kids.
