A short ride through the city of Koblenz, this winery will quench your palate along the Rhine River. I wish I could remember the bottles we walked away with, but they are long gone. Don't miss out.

One of our Tours from our River Cruise took us to the delightful sloping hills of Winningen. My wife, being a wine lover enjoyed the wine tasting experience immensely. At the end of the tasting however Herr Weyh had "Wein-Gelee" (Wine Jelly) for sale which was made at the winery. Whether you are a wine lover or not, you will love the Jelly. Imagine...breakfast with a slight hangover. How wonderful!!

We really wanted to get out into the countryside a bit during our river cruise so we signed up for this optional excursion and we were very pleasantly surprised. The vineyards in this area of Germany are incredible steep which has resulting in some clever innovations to maintain the vineyards and harvest the grapes. We had a very interesting tasting at Weyh. The family hosted us for a lovely wine tasting. We were not looking forward to a Reisling tasting but were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and depth of flavors. Fun, friendly and worth a visit.

The owner was very kind to pour us a wine tasting around the time of closing. Gives us all of the history behind his vineyard & the wines. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

The previous day we had tried wine-tasting in Guels with no success. One weingut was closed and another was open but not for tasting (I had sent email and even though someone was at the shop selling wine she wouldn't let us taste!). At Weingut Weyh in Winningen that was not a problem. Our hostess was very welcoming an let us try whatever wines we wanted. We had 2 dry (trocken) Rieslings, the first one was very mineraly and the second was more on the petrol side. Also had a Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) which was light-bodied and a Dornfelder (had never had one) which was darker and more full-bodied. Bought 4 bottles for ~30 euros. Nice views of the Moselle terasses also. There are are organized/formal tastings in English but we didn't book since we didn't know when we'd get there.
