If you arrive in Winningen, you can take a walk on the wine trail. The total length of the route is about 2.6 kilometers. The route begins at Am Rosenberg in the town. Along the way, you can stop along with 30 informative signs, which will provide you with interesting facts about growing grapes and making wines in general, especially in Winningen. If you get tired along the way, you can also rest on one of the benches along the route and simply enjoy the peaceful and rustic atmosphere.

Duration: 1 to 2 hours, depending on your fitness.

If in the area, then this is a nice afternoon (or morning) activity. You can do it as an organised tour, but I have done is several times in a small group. The path takes you into the vineyards and you have very nice views of the Mosel valley. It is a bit steep at times, but a good manageable path. Take you time to read the signs about vine growing along the way and take a little picknick for sitting on one of the benches and enjoying the views into the valley! As usual everything is nicer on a sunny day, but as long as it is not grey and miserable it is worth doing.
