This is a nice place to watch live animals, drink some Kloster wine, and visit the museum. The herb garden is great and you can get some soap and hand cream made by the Abbey. You can easily spend a few hours here and around the beautiful town.

A very outstanding red Basilique in the middle of town.
It's already standing there a very, very long time and really is very impressive. Just around the corner there is an old kloster complex which is also very nice to visit. Especially I enjoyed the garden area with its herb garden. There is also a small café as well as a museum within this complex. The whole area is well kept and an absolute must to see. The whole kloster complex is free to visit. A beauty. Don’t miss it if you are around.

This setting is beautiful and peaceful. The garden is amazing. Also make sure to see the mill and the little zoo. The white peacock is gorgeous!

Don’t forget to visit the Benedictine Cloister next door with its vast fruit and vegetable gardens, they seemed to have been living off the land.
The Kloster cafe is a nice way to finish off, it even has dishes called Benedictine toast, among other lovely cakes and pastries

Historical abbey with a Museum and a Cafe thereby. Right in front of the building, there a souvenir/ religious shop and bakery that sells fresh bread and can actually see how the traditional wood flour mill works using water to run.
From the side, which is the backyard of the Basilica, there you will be amazed by its lovely-pretty greenery and flowery gardens. Outside then, can find a children´s playground where I also enjoyed swing play.
We love Seligenstadt! Restaurant, Ice cream shops, friendly-smiling locals, Main river bank views, Ferry, Swan on the river, Bikers, timbered colorful buildings and their old stone street are very attractive.

Seligenstadt is always wonderful and interesting! We wouldn´t miss spending summertime here. The Basilica is very captivating sight from far either driving your car or in the ferry or just walking or biking. I would recommend everyone to visit here.

When you get off the ferry turn left and head through the gardens. It was below freezing today, so we did a quick tour and I was very impressed with how well kept the gardens were - they even had gardeners out there in the extreme cold. The town also has a Christmas Market in the town square, which is worth seeing. My friends say the town square is converted to a outdoor eating area in the summer. The town also has a brewery that's over 250 years old.

It's a small town, but worth a visit as you travel the Main River.

Wonderful tour with my friend, a local, around the abbey and the gardens. Very much enjoyed the medicinal/pharmaceutical gardens all neatly laid out with the color coded markers and names in latin and german. Very peaceful, nice place for a stroll after a meal, inspiring to gardeners - especially the 4 ft dwarf apple and pear trees lining the walkways.

Tradition, very beautiful buildings. If you want to eat real bread, domestic, as in ancient times in the courtyard is an old bakery. Bread does not dry quickly and does not curled. Bakery works once a week. Have a nice day.

Don't leave Seligenstadt without a visit to the Abby. As a Master Gardener, I highly recommend savoring the gardens and courtyards. The nearby cemetery should also be seen.
