Very interesting museum about the history of the motor car - and the bicycle. One can even see a replica of Dr. Benz's workshop in Mannheim where he built his first car. This museum is located in the first factory of Benz.

In order to take photographs one needs to pay €3.

The location is very pleasant, just along the Neckar river and near the centre of Ladenburg.

Not sure why there have been no reviews of this brilliant little museum since 2020 as it's definitely open and well worth visiting. An amazing collection obviously put together by enthusiasts and all the better for being in the first Benz factory. A whole range of cars and equipment and a little bit of social history thrown in. If your a car person or just a fan of specialist museums as we are and you're anywhere near the charming little town of Ladenburg then it's well worth a detour.

This is a really brilliant museum as you can all extremely close to all the exhibits and peer in unlike other museums where you look at precious exhibits at a distance. 99% of info in German and English. Only 5 euros to see some os the oldest and best Mercedes Benz throughout the years. Selection of old motorbikes and cycles too and typewriters by Mercedes.

This is a very interesting museum, mainly because of the property in which it is housed. This was a factory for C. Benz Söhne, a company Carl Benz established with his sons. He moved in here in 1906, hence the place itself is an important manifestation of automotive history.

The collection is interesting, but at the same time somewhat random. The two automobiles that caught my attention were two C Benz Söhne cars; a 1924 Type 8/25 and the 1911 10/22 Sportwagen.

If you are a car person, this museum is not to be avoided.

International visitors should know a few things, the museum do not accept credit cards of any kind(!) Germany seems to be in the dark ages when it comes to modern forms of payment, and the museum is no different. Still the museum could adapt a German system called SumUp or similar for card payment. The rest of us are in 2020!!!

Also, the lady who manned the reception when we visited could certainly work on her interpersonal skills. A smile is a good start - cheap and highly efficient! Next she should tone down her contempt for those of us not mastering the German language 100%. At least we tried - that is more than she did......

Yeah, one more weird fact.If we interpreted it correctly, a sign stated that there is a €3 charge for taking your own pictures(?).

This small museum does not open until 2pm on Sunday, which meant we spend time in Ladensburg (which we enjoyed) and came back later. The museum is very small, but has a lot to see. The admission fee seemed high compared to other sites we visited. And there was a special charge to take photos. Huh? This museum is probably a must for car enthusiasts, but the majority of our group didn't get very excited about it.

Small sized museum but with a lot of interesting things to see. There are not only Benz cars but also some other manufacturers from the beginning of the 20th century. Found it also interesting with the early F1 cars and different kinds of old motorcycles and bicycles that one've only seen in the movies.

This is a relatively small museum in a small town not far from Heidelberg. It is worth going to and has a variety of Mercedes Benz vehicles and some motorcycles. The cars are from a variety of time periods and several are very rare. If you go, you will definitely see several things you haven't seen before.

While there is a museum brochure in several languages, the detailed signs by each exhibit/car are only in German.

Not a huge museum but great collection of cars, automobilia, motorcyles and bicycles plus other interesting displays and the detailed history the first car ever made. Lots of interesting history there, all in a nicely restored former Benz factory building. The best time of year to visit is just before Christmas as they have a very nice Christmas Market that runs throughout the Museum. The only downside is the opening hours are a bit limited.
