Lovely gardens and also easy for getting around, well laid out for everyone. If you can visit when the roses are in bloom in the rose garden the perfume is gorgeous. There is a small Tea room which offers food made from what is produced in the garden so the menu is different most days.

Visited on a hot day and the gardens were blissful. We followed a small guide in a leaflet which made sure we took it all in. Beautifully planted beds, some formal, some colour based, some telling a story and some wild. There were busy beehives, arty benches and a veg patch. A sublime visit to an incredibly unusual place. Spent... More

Fields of flowers and magnificent roses allow great scenery and pictures. Garden is very well maintained. There is also a small area with activities for children (plant smells and feels). All these flowers, lawns and trees need a lot of attention which is reflected in the entrance price.

Different part of the garden are differently built. Young children can enjoy running along the long alleys and exploring the 5 senses garden, well designed (but not easy to find all 5 senses, we got only 3)..

I have meant for a long time to try this restaurant at the entrance to the fabulous Jardins de Valloires. Today, on the last day of the 2015 season (11 Nov) we dropped in after a tour of the beautiful adjacent abbey. Had we booked? Sadly not, and heads were regretfully shaken. But then the charming waitress offered to bring... More

There are a few places called Valloires in France - my satnav keeps trying to take me to the ski resort in the Alps. (I resist with some difficulty). This one is on the south bank of the river Authie in the department of the Somme - nearest village is probably Dominois or Argoules. Nice café decked out for Halloween.... More

Admittedly we got lucky as the weather was mild and sunny giving us a stunning experience of a wonderful garden. Really varied in colours and landscaping, vistas and vegetation, the hours spent strolling the gardens were great value for just six and a half euros. The buildings serving the garden; the gift shop area and restaurant were really bright and... More

les Jardin de Valloires is a beautiful historic Cistertion Abbey. The style and athmosphere of the abbey has been beautifully conserved and the staff are very welcoming and accomodating. We only had the continental breakfast during our stay (I believe that is the only meal they provide) The cheaper rooms at least, have a strange 'pod bathroom' which I found... More
