On holiday in Priziac, we had been to Auray market before & had enjoyed it, this time was no different other than we were on our own so could take more time. Lots of the usual things, fruit, veggies, cheese, salamis etc but also some lovely artisan stalls. Olive wood made in to all sort of useful things, I bought 2 coasters individual in that the wood grain is not the same on any 2 pieces of wood, I also bought an interesting canvas bag with a leather front, the perfect size for a day bag, lots of pockets, well pleased. Worth a visit but then the French always have good markets.

I know the other reviews are positive but I have to disagree. Veggies were cheaper than supermarkets but of similar bad quality... Limp and lifeless. Meat was not cheaper or the cheeses. Lots of sweet things over priced. Most of the other goods (non food) over priced apart from a two bag deal my wife found. I'd just go to the Wednesday market in Vannes a half hour east.

Everything I would expect from a market. There was plenty of local produce, we got some eggs which we delicious. And then of course there was the cheap knick knacks.

This is a traditional weekly market. Actually even if you come to Auray in the winter time you will see as many stallas as in the summer. People come from all the area on Monday mornings to do some shopping. it ranges from alive poultry to fish, fruit, vegetables, clothes... This is not a market organized for tourists, which also means that you will sometimes meet locals who speak English but not always! Remember you are in Brittany where locals are quiet and welcoming people (close to the Welsh, Cornish, Scots, Irish)! Have a look and feel the town!
