Worth a visit, if only to see how a large cemetery should be kept- with respect and care. Some of the tombs are huge marble edifices and must have cost a fortune. Many families are buried together with the plots being purchased in advance and the birth dates in place.

It was small place with incredible interesting grave chapel full of reliefs as well as interesting in shapes and forms graves. It is very climatic place surrounded by stone wall. From that place one can see the harbour bay. It is good place to observe sunset and sunrise.

I visited to get a closer view of the central mausoleum which is apparently the family mausoleum of a Chilean shipping magnate who was a native of the island. The dome topped by the angel is impressive. The surrounding cemetery is a tranquil place to wander or sit. I was fascinated to see that many tombs had blank, marble slabs, presumably pre-purchased and waiting for their first occupants. Some even had names and birth dates engraved and no death dates - that's planning ahead!

This cemetery was located practically on our resort grounds. We spent an afternoon exploring and it was beautiful. Great plaques with information on the local history.

We took the ferry from split to get away from the crowds for a couple of hours. We walked round the coast to see the stunning scenery and came across this graveyard. It is beautifully maintained with many marble stones and nice sculptures. A lovely place to visit.

This pretty cemetery is located on a point of water, so it is surrounded on all sides. It has pretty stones, a beautiful, huge mausoleom. It was part of our beach walk and we were very pleased to have walked inside.

Who would have thought that a cemetery would be a tourist attraction! But this one is right on the sea front and such beautiful and fascinating headstones and mausoleum - worth a visit as you walk along the coastal path.
