When I went to "Hanazono Roadside Station," I was intrigued by the pink building next door, so I decided to drop by after shopping at the roadside station.

Hanazono Forest is a sweets theme park with a European mansion motif, located a two-minute drive from Hanazono Interchange.

In addition to baumkuchen, they have sweets and gift sweets that make great souvenirs, cakes and gelato, freshly baked bread, and outlet products.

The outlet product on this day was baumkuchen.

It was too big for a small family, so we bought several types of baumkuchen individually wrapped in roses.

There is also a cafe and bakery inside the store, and since it was the holidays, there were a lot of customers.

Really great little stop if your in the area. They have the usual Japanese bread store fare but better quality. Had a bacon and mushroom pastry and a curry bun. Both well made. Very reasonable priced with a good selection. Picked up several loaves for a little under 1,000 yen.

Freshly made sweets are sold at a discount. Apparently there are days when they are even cheaper. There is also the Pierre de Ronsard Cafe and a dumpling and tofu shop. The garden is full of flowers and just entering is exciting. The sale day seems to be the second Wednesday of every month. It will be very crowded and you will see a lot of shopping. I saw many people carrying their hands full of things on the way home.
