Despite renewal work that will continue for another five years, the trip to Haruna Jinja is one well-worth making. It will not disappoint.

The shrine is situated on the mountain. You need to walk uphill to reach the shrine. The nature along the way and freash air will make you feel not tired at all. The nature is very beautiful with river, waterfall and forest . The shrine is great and once you see it, you could know it is, really valuable property. The place is peaceful and quiet. Worth to visit

It 's beautyful place but very cold if you go there in december you have to prepare you cloth . And you have to search HARUNAJINJA SHRINE not HARUNA SHRINE . so google will show the direct bus to get there .

Mt Haruna Shrine is a must if you are driving up Mt Haruna. Follow Maps directions and then keep going a few ks down the road because it stops before the village where you can park.
A short walk along the gorge pathway. 1000yo cedar trees and jagged rock formations alone worth the trip.

easy to get to Haruna Shrine, but takes 20 minutes reach the shrine . The bus to the shrine leaves from Takasaki station which is approximately 45 minutes by Nagano or Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station

If you’ve got half a day or more highly recommend this trip. Simple bus ride from main station. Grab a timetable as English help is very limited.
Bus takes about 1 hr. It’s not that far just a slow drive.

The shrine is 1400 years old and so worth visiting. Allow 1 hr while there.

If you have visited Japanese Shinto shrines before, there is nothing particularly new to be experienced at Haruna-jinja, but it is a pleasant walk through the wooded ravine to the main shrine buildings at the top. You can also buy o-mikuji (fortune-telling messages) which only give up their secrets upon being dunked in water, which is quite fun (though you’ll need a Japanese reader on hand to translate). You can get some decent yaki-manju from the restaurant at the bottom of the hill, too.

When we went, it was March and everything was brown and dry, so I would recommend going between March and October when it’s nice and green and there’s the chance of seeing some wild flowers.

Haruna Shrine great place for wish and pray. It's the power spot in Gunma Pre. But I recommend that Soba Festival on 24~26th November. It's a fantastic Festival for to eat Soba, Toufu and coffee. You can pay 1500yen with 5tickets. You are in 5 shop or restaurants. You have a good days. See you that days.

This Shrine is out of the way so is not crowded. It is interesting but a little unkeep. I went mainly for the garden, which was not very well maintained. It would be a personal choice whether you travelled there.

Visited the Haruna Shrine and its various temples. Amazingly beautiful area. Be prepared for a moderate hike. Take your time and take a lot of pictures. Very scenic area. Be sure to make your pilgrimage to the temple, make your offering and ask for the blessing of temple.
