Not an attraction, but transportation to attractions in Abashiri
Feb 2018 • Couples
The bus is all you need to travel around Abashiri. Abashiri has a good bus system both within the town, stopping at the major tourist and shopping centers, and an intercity system to Sapporo with Kitami, Bihoro, and Memambetsu airport. Six hours to Sapporo, ten busses a day, including a night bus. The bus company’s webpage noted here on Tripadvisor has an English language schedule. The bus is the way to travel in the winter if you have no car. In the summer you might like to use a bicycle. 800 yen for a one-day pass, available at the Abashiri train station. Visited 2/19/2018

Good for sightseeing around Abashiri

This bus lets you all important sightseeing spots in abashiri area. But only problem is its frequency. It hardly runs 4~6 times a day so you need to be very careful about last bus from each place you are visiting.

Good for travellers who don't drive

I used the bus to get to the museums. If I'm not wrong, a day pass is 800 yen. For more information, you can visit the Tourist Information Centre at Abashiri JR Station.
