Nice public onsen on the main street. Part of the icon for this town and you can see loads of visitors enjoying their visit. Once finish your onsen, have a nice meal in the Izakaya next door, up the road from Yamanaka-za theatre.

Along the road, you'll find sake (rice wine) ice cream, and a grocery store selling meat and freshly made pork or chicken cutlets.

Immaculate and picturesque little onsen town - very quiet when we were there in early April but I guess they must have moderate numbers of visitors sometime.

I love this peaceful street, with souvenir shop, local vegetable shop, restaurants, they are located in harmony. But you can just spend around 2 hours here.
