The Tank Museum brings history to life, with the world's best collection of tanks and explosive live displays. See almost 300 armoured vehicles as you explore seven powerful exhibitions. "The Tank Story" details tank history from 1915 to the present. "Battlegroup Afghanistan" transports you to the modern front line. In "The Second World War - Discovery Centre", you'll see the breadth of our unique collection plus "Fury" uncovering our involvement in the film. Following the First World War centenary commemorations, explore "The Trench Experience" and "Warhorse to Horsepower". New for 2015, "Tank Factory" tells the story of the tank makers.

Despite living only an hour away, I had never been before. What a mistake. I took a Canadian visitor and we spent over 5 hours completely absorbed. I have been to military museums all over the world and this one is definitely in the top...More

My preconceived idea was that this museum would be in an old warehouse with old and half rusted hunks of tank. In reality it is huge, modern museum housed in a series of interconnected buildings, and almost every tank looked like it was operational. OK,...More

This place was a real surprise. I had expected tanks of course, but the way the museum is set out and the displays are put together makes this an enjoyable journey for the entire family. This museum is bigger than we expected, so do allow...More

We went to the Tank Museum whilst in Dorset as I particularly wanted to see the Centurion Tank that my Dad was in during the Korean war. I'm not a Tank fan it was more a personal quest, but I really enjoyed it. Amazing how...More

What's to say? More tanks than you can shake a hairy stick at and all displayed amazingly well with great video support and memorabilia to boot. Allow 3 hours, you will be tanked out at the end but you can always go back on the...More

Yes, there’s plenty to do inside, so much to look at. Loads for kids to do including soft play, quizz, dress up and get to sit in the drivers seat of a tank. (Tho adults can do this as well!)
