This is one of the most stunning sights my eyes have ever seen. The moment the image of the lake breaks over the highway it takes your breath away. That only becomes more prominent as you get closer to the lake and experience multiple vantage...More

There are lots of different accommodations available. It is a tiny town but has many easy hiking and walking trails. Surprisingly enough variety of restaurants.
Recommendation: definitely worth a stop on your way from Christchurch to Queenstown.
This is a lovely lake and village. As with so many lakes in this area it is a beautiful turquoise colour. Had a swim in it, cool and refreshing though the area I choose was quite a lot of pebbles so walking in wasn’t easy!
