The little church sitting on top of the lake is a wonderful site, for those who aren’t religious it’s a nice visit and for those who are it’s a great place to sit and enjoy the simple but elegant design. Greatly enjoyed.

I first visited this site in 1975. The church stood isolated on a knoll with most spectacular backdrop. The setting is still stunning but it has been made into an attraction with pathways and masses of parking. While still worthy of a visit I think...More

Stopped by the little church when we visit the lake Tekapo but unfortunately it was closed so we could only strolled around for a while. It was nicely preserved and quite photogenic with the blue colour lake as background.

Thankful that I thought ahead and set the alarm early to see this magical location before the Selfie Brigade arrived in their hordes . We were able to absorb the peace of this beautiful location without sharing our space with furiously snapping tourists . It’s...More

A quick stop to check this church and view out if you are in the area. It is picturesque. You don't need a lot of time nor a detour if you are not stopping in Lake Tekapo.

As some have mentioned, this is a must visit place by many self drive / tour group tourists. Thus, it is definitely crowded, especially if from late morning onward. It is tricky to get a good picture of the church (from outside, no photos inside)...More

Small church on blue lake with toilets you have to pay for. Would drive past and have a look out of car but don't stop. Lupins are pretty in the area though - but more further on.

Why did you build a car park right in front of the Church? There is a large car park just 5 minutes walk from it!!! It was really terrible experience because I was not able to take a shot of a church because there were...More

I travelled in the South Island in September. You have to be prepared for cold weather, there were some snow falls which added to the beauty of the island. It rains a lot on the west coast of the South Island. The weather... More

Sorry I don't know. It is a working church and so there should be a website or the New Zealand tourist board should be able to assist.
