I have never seen so many tourists over a constant time throughout the day in one spot. It never ended. We stayed across the road and I ducked out at first light in my nightie to take some photos thinking there wouldn't be anyone around - but I was wrong! Already at least a dozen people taking photos. Very picturesque,... More

A simple stone church in a beautiful location. It is obviously popular with visitors, and despite the attempts of an elderly man to collect dropped rubbish, the site does not cope well with the sheer number of visitors. Perhaps the nearby parking area could be reduced in size and then visitors would have to walk from the village centre.

Lovely place to see. If you're into photograpy you might find it challenging because of the number of tourists. I've been there at 3am for night photography and found a lot of tourists there. Great for tourists. Challenging for photographers.

Lake is beautiful with Mt Cook as a back drop. The township is small, so it's tempting to just drive through as you get the views as you enter town. BUT Don't do as I did and have to slam on the brakes and do a u-turn to go back to the historic church and memorial statue. 100mtrs off the... More

It's a small church in a scenic position on the edge of Lake Tekapo. Unfortunately the opportunities for capturing said scene on film are limited by the enormous numbers of visitors attempting to do the same.

This is a peaceful little church in a small and peaceful town. This church is probably set in one of the most stunning settings in the world.

It is indeed a very highly trafficked attraction - you will not be alone when you visit. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful church in an unbelievably beautiful setting. Remember to respect that it is an active site of worship.

I was here to shoot night sky and it was a wonderful clear night. Had a great time shooting this little church with an amazing sky full of stars.

It's crowded but the view is worth a stop and the shoreline is beautiful and well worth a walk. There are park grounds, a really nice bridge, and shopping and restaurants nearby.

We visited this place in Autumn, it was hard not to feel the tranquility/serenity of this place. The presence of this tiny building creates the difference. This Church is not an architectural wonder, it is a simple, small layers of stone, yet it creates a profound impact. The simple Cross made of abandoned tree trunks, with circular barbed wire (crown... More
