Highly recommended hike on the shores of Lake Tekapo. There are some mildly steep parts, but most of the hike's relatively easy. Don't forget the sunscreen if going in the summer.

Low fitness level required for this approx. 2 hrs walk along the lakeshore. From Lake Tekapo township, you'll get to the start of the walkway by car or by bike, but cycling is not permitted on the walkway itself. If you have only one afternoon...More

It can be hard for those without a car to reach but I have to say it has the best view out of Tekapo. In windy day, you will see different color layers.

Walkaway along with shore of the lake. New zealand is full of lake views, this one is not better than any of the them, so can be given a skip

Literally the track is walking through a sheep farm. Views doesn't offer much more than the shoreline of Tekapo. Closed during lambing season
