Amazing place

A visit at wind farm was the best thing in Loja. On the way up we admired the beautiful views. It produces 25% of the electric used in the province of Loja in one year. There were also information center where you could see pictures of building process. When we saw the pictures of how all the big parts have made their way up to the hill and the building process it made us quiet, huge project. There is also a coffee shop where we had hot chocolate and sandwitch, service was friendly.

Top-Shelf View

We enjoyed the fabulous view of the valley (Cuxibamba) from the base of the windmills. Unfortunately, did not have time to visit the interpretive center, but plan to return to do that.
Worth the taxi ride!👍🏼👍🏼

My bicycle experience XD
Jan 2018 • Solo
I wanted to go the Parque, so I went by bike It is a rought experience due the mountains and hills eventhou I am used to high places and I am not a sedentary person, It got me taking some stops sometimes I had to walk with the bike It was funny and looonngg!
At the end I didnt make it to the top I was too exhauseted after 10km to continue I was about 4 km to the top.
So if you plan to do the same just take the Bus to the nearest neighborhood Tierras Coloradas and them walk 4 km.

Great view and very friendly staff

Just went up to check the view and take our dog for a walk.
The friendly security guard told us dogs are not allowed (then we saw the sign) so we had to leave her in the truck.
We were directed by the next friendly guard, to the information center where we were introduced to a guide who patiently explained about the park and then we finished the brief tour with a walk to the vista point.
A really nice experience.

Amazing View and place, middle point between two valleys!
Aug 2015 • Solo
Loja it´s considered a unique place for all of the attractive points, and this one is on the list. The ¨Wind Park¨ its located 20 minutes in car from the center of loja, and the road rides you to Catamayo as well.
You can enjoy for two valley panoramic view. In this place,, you can have a guided trip to see all the turbines, some video tour, a coffee place, and some galleries.
Please take a coat with you, some times its very cold and rainy.
If you want to make some exercise cycling its amazing, it´s like 2 hours road to the top, and please bring a good camera, you will see foreign people walking, some cows, old houses, there are also some food places and desserts.

Great experience to get a closer look of the aero generators and all the explanation about them. Even though the weather was not helping (a little rain), we had a great experience.

Interesting attraction
Feb 2015 • Friends
About 13 km west of the city on the road to Catamayo and the regional airport, perched at 2720 m on the hilltop overlooking Loja is Parque Eolico Villonaco. Very interesting as Loja was the first city in Ecuador to receive electricity, and now the first to ecologicaly harness the wind & generate electricity from 11 windmill towers. The size of the wind towers and blades is awesome when viewed in the park and the winds are forceful and cold.
