Great scenery but the stray dogs and kids selling things make it very hard to relax here. For example my girlfriend was swimming in the beach and was all of a sudden charged at by a stray dog that jumped on her scratching her and pushing her under the water, it took a lot to get the dog away and... Given the magnificent beauties of other beaches you may reach in Alagoas, such as Praia do Patacho, Prai do Marceneiro, Praia do Toque, Bitingui and so on, Maragogi disappointed me. Too many people, invariably the beaches are more crowded and dirty, more poverty and children constantly approaching you to try and sell art. Having known other beaches before reaching Maragogi... Maybe for Brazil these are very beautiful and exciting, for people who gave been to Thailand or better to the Red Sea, the clarity of water, number and selection of fish is not so great in order to spend a whole day on the trip from Maceio. About the drive organization. I bought a tour for 120 Reals from the... More

Place where you can find a very rich nature, not so much developed for tourism, so thats why is so rich in nature! I really recommend the visit!!! It's amazing for family or in a couple.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to. As beautiful as Key West in Florida (USA). The beach is very clean and there are many different options of tours there. But the city of Maragogi is a little messy and dirty, the only problem.

You can stay a couple of days in Maragogi or just drive from Maceio early in the morning... But you MUST arrive early, before the tide rises, if you want to go snorkeling in the coral. The water color is of an amazing green and it is warm. You can go to the corals by speed boat (Lancha) or by... More

The reef off of Maragogi is beautiful although the snorkling isn't great. I didn't see a huge amount of fish. The beach is nice, but there are jellyfish in the water and on the beach. Several people were stung while I was there.

The main attraction of Maragogi Beach is the tour to the "Gales". The place is a coral reef barreer some miles from the coast. The water is clear green and warm. Maragogi, as most of the places in the brazilian northeast is sunny most of the year, and even when it is reaning the temperature doesnt change much. A good... More
