I enjoyed much of my trip to Maragogi and Antunes beach. The sea has a lovely temperature, not cold nor warm. The sea water is very clean and calm. Walking in the sand one can feel the mild wind and the air temperature is just perfect. Walking around the area is gorgeous because one can get in touch with the local people, which is very friendly and the mancraft very diverse. The food is delicious with wonderful fishes and mandioca. Me and my husband had a fantastic time. We want to return as soon as possible.

The beach is stunning! Green/blue waters and fine sand...the sea is calm and warm, as you'd expect in the northeast. The locals say it's crowded but they have obviously not been to the beaches in Rio or Sao Paulo. Their idea of crowded is my idea of empty! I was there on a Sunday and there were long stretches of desert areas with nothing but sun and wind. Near the kiosks there were more people, but nothing major. You need to park by the highway and walk 100 m to the beach. You will be approached by people from the kiosks trying to convince you to stop at their place. Not a good idea...once you are at the beach you can have a better judgement of which kiosk serves your purpose best. They have different menus and different quality of food, chairs and space. If you bring your own cooler and chairs, you can find amazing empty spots to relax and enjoy. Truly one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen!

I think this beach is a victim of its own success/hype. Whilst it is beautiful with white sands and turquoise waters (even in a cloudy day) it didn’t feel safe. “Tem muita muvuca”. People hassling you to do this trip, eat this, sit here, park here, loud music... not relaxing. Not to mention the fact that I had read someone being robbed within 5 mins of arriving! We left back to the beach we were staying at 20km south of there. After speaking to the owner of our pousada, she said that 2 years ago it was deserted, but now... obviously it depends what you are after but it was not for us. There are much better beaches further south towards São Miguel dos Milagres. The 3 stars are for its beautiful water but that’s it.

Maragogi is still an unexplored paradise...
Praia de Antunes has good structure, and is still quiet and good for relaxing. You can go to other beaches from there (by boat), buying the ticket at your quiosque for around R$70 per person. Strongly recommend the visit!

the beach is amazing, quite and clean water. But it does not even has a bath. The food tracks does not offers a good service and very expensive compared with other Brazil beaches.

Very calm beach, with natural pools of salty water for more than 200m during the morning. Best place to relax.

A lovely beach with crystal clear and warm waters, surrounded by coconut trees. Blue/ green colors that reminds you of the Caribbean beaches. Best time to go is before or at least two hours after low tide. Long walks, swimming and car driving alongside the coast were wonderful moments.
