In advance of a trip to San Juan, I researched tarpon guides and found an article about Captain Omar Orraca in an archived issue of Saltwater Sportsman Magazine and that led me to check out his TripAdvisor reviews (all extremely positive). First of all, I just need to say that Elvia, Omar's wife, is the key to the operation -... More

I went fishing with Omar on the 16th, 17th and 18th of April of 2016 for Tarpon and it couldn't have been better! A lot of fishing activity and always nice big fish, Omar always made sure that I would fight a big one, and I ended up landing a 110lb-120lb tarpon...simply increadible!!! And to make thing better, Omar is,... More

I booked a half day tarpon fishing trip for my grandson and myself with captain Omar based on reviews. We were not disappointed! He is experienced, knows the waters and how the fish run. We were both novice fishermen and he guided us with great patience, explaining the steps to landing a tarpon, which we both did. He has a... More

We were on a family reunion trip in Puerto Rico back in November and five of us decided to go deep sea fishing. I had not done the research (my cousin did!), and quite frankly didn't know what to expect. This boat trip exceeded our expectations. Captain Omar and his wife Elvia are so lovely, kind, and attentive. Omar is... More

Recently went on an afternoon fishing trip with Omar with 5 other guys from work. We have been down in Puerto Rico on a job and after almost two months; we were looking forward to the distraction. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like old friends. Everyone acted as though they had known us for years. After a... More

I booked a fishing trip with Carribian Outfitters and brought a few Buds along. Elvia was very informative and helpful on the phone when booking. I reserved half day light tackle and we were not disappointed. We landed one sweet Tarpon and had 5 good bites. The weather was gorgeous and we were in the fish most of the day... More

I did a 3/4 day deep sea fishing trip on 02/25/2016 with Capt. Omar, Elvia, and Josh as crew. They were right on time, well prepared, and ready to find fish. We caught a nice Mahi and hooked a blue marlin. The blue marlin was a full hour fight; exciting! They have top notch rods and reels. The boat is... More

We left the Dock before sunrise, and stopped where some local gentleman were catching perch. Omar purchased a dozen or so of these. We then traveled down river, where Omar used a cast net to capture anchovies. At that point the dawn was just breaking, and the birds were starting to sing. It was slightly overcast with passing sprinkles. When... More
