From Fajardo: Icacos Deserted Island Catamaran & Picnic Cruise

1,019 reviews
Combining activities with lunch and drinks and transport can start to get pretty expensive in Puerto Rico when planning independently. This San Juan cruise saves you money by merging a catamaran cruise with lunch, tropical drink pouches, beach time, and even an optional upgrade for hotel pickup and drop-off.
$113.40 per adult

Las Pocitas de Piñones is very close to San Juan , about 15 minutes, passing Carolina. This place is ideal to come and relax in the water because is like kids’ Pool! Warm and calm, so you sit and don’t want to leave. It has plenty of parking space across the street. I really suggest you to go.

I absolutely love this beach. It is kind of like a natural pool because the rocks block the open ocean / waves. The water is very clear and the beach doesn't get too full. They don't have any restaurants walking distance but they do have kiosks with fried foods right in front of it. Very kid friendly, water is shallow.

This beach is very cute, like a beach within a beach. We snorkeled there and saw lots of fish and crabs. The current is kind of strong, but staying put is not difficult. The water is never more than waist high, and there are many areas that are barely mid-calf. We saw a group with an umbrella stuck in the sand while they all sat under it in the water, which looked quite cozy. I would recommend visiting and I would visit it again.

Kids will love this beach, nice sand and warm water. There are some food places around with reasonably food prices.

Visit this beach on the weekends, and you'll be in the company of a multitude of local families enjoying the afternoon. People cooking, playing, splashing in the water and cranking up the music. As a tourist, you'll get to experience the real culture of Puerto Rico. This beach is along a heavy-surf region of the coast, but it is protected by a jagged line of volcanic rocks. The "pocita" is a long, calm pool on the inshore side of the rock line. While the beach is soft sand, there are many places where you'll need to be careful of the jagged rocks. There is ample parking on the opposite side of the busy road that services this beach. Because of its proximity to the airport, there is a lot of air traffic overhead as planes take off. The boardwalk/walking trail that connects the various Pinones locations passes through this beach.
