Snorkeling in vieques

We stayed in Palmas del Mar and walked to maragata's dock instead of driving 40 minutes to fajardo for a different excursion. Captain Matt and First Mate Jerry were friendly and helpful. There were only 12 people on the boat and no crowds where they took us. This is not a rowdy booze cruise if that's what you're looking for. They did provide a few beers. The ride was fun, the snorkeling pretty good and the scenery pretty. And afterward there is a cool bar next door where we had lunch. All in all a great day.

A fantastic day on the water

We had a fantastic day on the water with Captain Matt. Swimming with sea turtles, snorkeling around the coral reef and ending the day catching mackerel and barracuda. The catamaran was safe, stable and clean. Matt provides us with local tips and a lifetime of experience on the water. I highly recommend any trip on "Matt's Cat".

Fun day on the water!

The family enjoyed the day fishing and snorkeling. Captain Matt and First Mate Jerry did an excellent job guiding the adventure. The boat is very comfortable and equipment excellent for a day drip to the islands. The snorkeling is in clear water with few distractions and plenty to sea. I highly recommend the charter.

A Must Do In Palmas Del Mar!

Excellent experience with Captain Matt and Tony. After the let down of the Ferry to Culebra in Fajardo, which we had purchased tickets well in advance and still didn't make it to, we scrambled to find a last minute excursion. Captain Matt got back to us within minutes of calling and was able to accommodate our needs within a day. Captain Matt and his shipmate, Tony, were extremely polite, funny, and very knowledgable about the area. We took our kids, 3 and 6, on a 4 hour snorkel tour to Vieques and for the cost this beyond exceeded our expectations. Drinks, which included beer, water, and assorted soda accompanied by some snacks were provided. The kids, wife, and I had a blast. In addition to the array of Tropical fish, sea urchin, conch, etc. we were lucky enough to see sting rays, a nurse shark, and sea turtles. Highly recommend these guys for any type of trip they have to offer!

We stayed at Palmas del Mar for a week for our honeymoon and went out with Captain Matt and Sebastian on a snorkeling tour. It was a great time. They were both very friendly and helpful. It was my first time snorkeling and I'm hooked now. We swam with sea turtles, saw a stingray that was bigger than I was, saw some silly looking blow-fish. I think what made it that much more special for us was that the part of Vieques that they took us to was completely quiet. We were the only people I saw there that day. Sebastian was also pretty helpful in recommending places to go eat at in the area. :) I would note that this is a family deal, so while we were celebrating our honeymoon, there were families with kids with us as well. They happened to be great, so we had no problem with it... I just want to point out that you should be prepared for the possibility of spending the day with kids.

Top notch operation. The boat was immaculate. The crew was superbly professional, knowledgeable and friendly! We had a wonderful time on the Vieques trip!

So fun

We booked a snorkeling trip from the flyer in our condo. I called,left a message and Capt Matt called right back and we had a trip booked for the next day. The boat is very well kept. Capt Matt and Tony were fun and informative. The trip was 4 hours and worth every penny. My 9 yr old loved it and can't wait to do it again. Next time we plan on trying fishing too and will call Capt Matt for that.

8 hour fishing expedition

Scheduled the fishing trip for March 24, previous 1 was canceled due to bad weather. Captain Matt kept me informed all the time and was very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. His crew took the time to explain everything on the trip. It was a lot of fun.

No Show for our trip

Talked to Captain Matt about 5 times to schedule a trip. He had enough people to go and although we wanted to do the afternoon tour, the other people wanted to do the morning so we agreed. He took my credit card and saved it for Saturday morning. This was our last day there and we scheduled activities around this trip. When we arrived at the boat he wasn't there so I contacted him. He said he didn't have anything scheduled and left it at that. He called me to offer me a free trip next time I was in Puerto Rico. Not very helpful and not apologetic for leaving us. wouldn't recommend him at all. Extremely disappointed. Also wanted to charge us more than the website states. Be careful if you book with him!

Very Poor Captain Equals No Fish

I am a Marlin tournament fisherman and used to proactive captains.
The captain on this boat did nothing more than drive.
He did not bother to turn around to watch the baits and he did not instruct the mate to check the baits periodically.
Don't waste your time or money if you are serious about catching fish.
He also offers sightseeing tours.
Perhaps he's better at that.
