Right in the middle of Palmas del Mar is the Pterocarpus Forest, the pride of the community. An ongoing effort to rehab it after last year’s hurricanes is showing great results. Will take another year..

We didn't have the chance to go to Pterocarpus, but we went to El Yunque in Luquillo. The rainforest was very beautiful with amazing scenery, the creeks for example. The rainforest is also not far from the hotel.

This is a wonderland of nature! Beautifully maintained; well laid out with documents of what birds and wildlife you are viewing, {of hearing) and it keeps getting better. A delightful educational experience!

Nothing compares to the unique experience of walking in this ancient forest. Worth the trip to Palmas Del Mar as there are great restaurants there, too.

Check out the tree house and bring snacks for the kids. The walk on the trail (elevated wood walkway, not dirt) is nice and relaxing.
