Took friends here to visit whilst they were visiting. Gives a lovely history to the place and it’s famous residents. Well worth a visit and the volunteers are all lovely.

We made a return visit to Burntisland today and as luck would have it the Burntisland Heritage Trust was open.
They are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11am until 4pm throughout the main summer season. Walking tours can also be arranged with them and take place on a Wednesday afternoon.
The lady volunteer was very interesting to listen to and is enthusiastic about the area and it's history. The current exhibition is laid out in 3 rooms covering the history of Burntisland including the now closed Alcan Works. Part of the exhibition has been created by the local primary school pupils and depicts their ideas of 'Gifts and Treasures'
There is also a lovely handmade replica of the Parish Church made from matchsticks - a treasure in itself.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Situated just off the High Street this exceptionally good location is a wealth of facts ,photos and famous people in the area . There are exceptionally good photos of the area and wild life . I was very taken with the 2 knowledgeable ladies Penny and Willie who gave me an in site to the work going on by the trust . I was interested in the limestone workings now closed that have stalactites hanging and tools still left and now covered in limestone residue. We were taken on a very comprehensive inner heritage tour by Ian round the town including a must see visit to the Parish Church. Sometimes it is possible to view Rossend Castle.
