Food was excellent, highly recommend eating there, staff werd fantastic and the management were outstanding, service was fabulous with no waiting despite it being particularly busy, very reasonable price and would definitely come back, jane and jim are the best hosts.

Friendly service, good grub
Jul 2019 • Family
We ate here twice during our stay at a nearby B&B. I would say the pub mainly caters to a nearby family campsite so provides good, honest grub and a good price. The pub side is quite traditional but it also has a dining area catering to more ‘mass market’. The service at the bar and restaurant side was very friendly and efficient. We had Sunday lunch and plowmans with local pork pie. Both were good! The location is very beautiful with open views of the Shropshire hills. Good parking is available.

Fantastic Sunday Lunch
Apr 2019 • Couples
Visiting for Sunday lunch on the 13th April was a very enjoyable experience. A really good choice of local real ales, tasty starters (we both had scampi) and delicious and generous roast dinners (one beef, one pork). The waitress service was excellent. Will definitely return.

Spur of the moment visit

Called in as we were staying in the adjoining touring park. We hadn’t booked but managed to get a table in the main dining room thanks to the helpful staff. A good menu an decent specials board were presented. The food was very good, generous portions that were evidently freshly cooked and piping hot. My belly pork with apple cider sauce was simply fantastic, my wife had fish and chips which she described as gorgeous. The choice of deserts was a tough one, a great choice. Again, well presented, fresh and very tasty. All in all a lovely meal in a relaxing atmosphere at affordable prices, if ever we’re that way again I will definitely return!

Pensioners lunch
Jun 2018 • Couples
Limited choice of food, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts, so if you are not too fussy, you will find this ideal, for the price it is good value £7.95 for three courses, the meal came nice and hot with extra gravy for the roast lamb, lovely roast potatoes and plenty of vegetables.

Please let the dogs in !!!
Jul 2016 • Couples
Whilst staying at the caravan site next door we visited this inn for an evening meal. Nice friendly country pub - but they did not allow dogs in - even in the flag stoned bar !! But screaming kids were OK!! However we had a good meal - but didn't stay as long as we might have as our elderly dog was in the car. The food was good and plenty of it and the staff friendly.
