Not the most exciting town square in Spain. Several touristy cafes, bars, and an ice cream store surround the plaza but it does have an outside hot spring thats only a 5 min walk from the plaza. You don't find that in to many plaza's...More

This is an attractive plaza, praza in the Galician language, in the heart of the old city. The surrounding buildings are lovely, with arcades that will protect you from the rain which is common. I am told this is the steepest Plaza Mayor in Spain.

Typical Spanish square, with cafes, restaurants and interesting buildings on all sides. The dominant building is the town hall (Casa Do Concello) but on another side there is one with Art Nouveau features, including some lovely ceramic tiles.

The old town of Ourense has a many nice old houses and small plazas. Plaza Mayor is one of them. Cafes at the Plaza and in the small streets nearby.

I’ve visited Plaza Mayor on several occasions with friends. It’s always been an enjoyable time here. Have sat at several of the different cafes for after lunch drinks & conversations. Definitely a highlight when visiting Ourense

It’s the town hall square and on two sides full of cafeterias. We thought it a good idea to stay there overlooking the plaza but tables and chairs are dragged away late at night and first thing in the morning with absolutely no care for...More

Although it does have limitations as to its layout it is still a beautiful place to visit. Unfortunately it has to compete with the plaza majors in Salamanca and Madrid and it does pale in comparison, Lots ot se around it.

Nice square with lots of shops to browse nearby and cafeterias to have a drink or a bite. There are paid covered parkings nearby.

What can I say about this modest open space in the old part of the city? It is like a poor cousin of the plazas in Salamanca and other cities in Castilla and Leon. It goes well together with the main cathedral, which is also...More

Lots of bars around here where you can sit and relax while admiring the scenery. There is also a little train that leaves from here to do a sightseeing trip around town.
