I visited Roquetas De Mar in May with five others. We stayed at the Protur Roquetas Hotel & Spa and Serena Beach was just outside. The beach is a mix of sand and stone and it is kept very clean. The water was very cold but once you swam it was refreshing. The promenade is a beautiful place to walk or ride bikes, it too is very clean, with lovely trees. As you walk along, there are bars and restaurants, we had some nice cocktails. There are vendors selling handmade jewellery, bags and Souvenirs, who were not pushy. We walked the whole promenade and it lead us to the town which has some lovely shops. The Sunsets were Gorgeous. Our best experience though was at 3am in the morning, when we had come back from the clubs. The stars are amazing and we saw two shooting stars together. One night there was a lightning storm out to sea, we watched it move across the ocean. The beach at night has a magical quality. I loved Serena beach, it may not be golden sand but its up there with some of my favorites.

If this beach had fine yellow sand would be off the scale....its huge.Sadly its a dirty pebble affair but didn't spoil it for me.Brilliant promenade runs along its length with space for walking jogging and specific cycle space.Cycles can be hired easily.Good number of facilities along it that dont spoil it by being too many.Hotels are not built right up.to the edge along most of it and there is clear green space or low level apartments.Brilliant.

This beautiful beach really made our holiday. We went every day as the sun beds were reasonably priced ,and you could keep them all day.
The beach is peaceful and spacious meaning you are able to doze off under the parosol.
The area along the beach is pedestrianised, adding to the tranquility. There are chiringuitos all along the front so you can go for a drink or a meal very easily.
There a plenty of sunbeds ,but we kept o the same ones because the Young Spanish man was so helpful and friendly and it was nice chatting to him.

A long stretch of sandy beach that is cleaned every morning by staff from the local council. A great place for swimming, walking or just taking the sun; well supplied with chiringuitos (beach bars) as well as life-guards.

The beach front at Roquetas is lovely, It has a wide pedestrian walkway that separates walkers from cyclists that is absolutely flat as a pancake. The beach its self is very clean & is made up of very small stones rather than sand which is good for massaging the feet.

The choice of beach bars is good & there is plenty of well appointed chilren's playparks, showers / sun-beds available.

The beach is a fantastic place to watch the sun rise over the Cabo de Gata.

This beach is in the city of 04740 Roquetas De Mar, in Almeria Province, not in Almeria City itself as listed on this site. Its about 20miles further up the coast in the new urbanization part of Roquetas.
It is very clean and atractive with good facilities looked after by the local authorities. Lifegaurds, showers etc. A few very good chiringitos along the beach and nearby parking, including a few disabled spots. It is made up of a very fine shingle, not quite sand but very close.

This walkway, called Paseo Maritimo, stretched for miles and miles along the coast, from Las Marinas to Aquadulce. If you happened to be in the Las Marinas area, you should consider to stop at the Golf Club for a drink and enjoy the scenery or at Pierre's La Vita for an excellent French cuisine meal. Closer to Roquetas is the outstanding Popeye's Spanish restaurant.

We had a lovely walk down the prom area really quiet area no loud music and no young one drunk it's full of Eating places and little bars and people selling stuff if you want to buy they don't pressure you to buy and everyone is friendly.
The view is lovely and so also you can get a bicycle car to travel on or own bikes
