The place is OK, but perhaps a dash too pretentious, possibly due to being associated with an allegedly 5-star hotel.
There are basically three thermal pools for common use plus a couple more that are considered a "treatment" and have to be booked separately. The thing we liked best was the Salidarium (a half-hour-long snooze in a bed of coarse warm aromatic salt). The other treatments were somehow unimpressive, especially the Talaquam pool, which is supposed to contain highly saline water, but in fact doesn't even hold a body on the surface (at least my body). The "grotto", which is apparently booked up for quite some time ahead is also a rather ordinary bath with thermal water coming out of a pipe, so the only real difference is that it is private and the lights are dimmed.
In general, the water is more hard than salty in most pools, which may not agree with certain types of skin, and most of the rooms and equipment look rather used. Also, no lockers for valuables other than the ones in the changing room, for which the establishment takes no responsibility.
On the bright side, most of the staff members are pleasant and helpful, there is water, tea and fruit served in the relaxation rooms and there's one little sauna (up to 6 persons or so) and a rather larger steam bath (hamam).

For 60 UK pounds each this was a pleasant day out. There are five or six pools in which to bathe or swim with various degrees of heat and some nice areas to eat although the food choice was relatively restricted. On a boiling hot day outside it was a nice way to relax. To be honest initially I was somewhat unconvinced of the merits of bathing in hot water on an already hot day but it was a pleasant enough experience after all. I’m not a regular visitor to spas and saunas but I enjoyed it!

This was a last minute decision to go here as it rained all night in Pisa and was still raining when we woke up we googled what to do and found this place. Just a short cheap train trip from Pisa Centrale two stops and your there followed by a short 5 min walk. €40 gets use of all the pools, saunas etc and then have lunch in the pub or restaurant in your robe - extra cost though. The staff were very friendly and helpful explaining all the packages and deals they have. Once you gave decided, paid and dressed in your togs and robe a staff member shows you around the whole area and after that you can do what you please. Resting stations all around the spa gave seats, water, green tea and fruit for you to enjoy. Pools were clean and we spent from 9.30am to 5pm there. I enjoyed it thoroughly and if it's raining or your sore from constantly walking around this is a great break.

A great day trip around Pisa is to visit the leaning tower in the am and then book a treatment at Bagni di pisa in San Giuliano Terme. San Giuliano Terme is a small town on rad ss112 between lucca and pisa.20 minutes by car from either Pisa or Lucca. The spa has a list of different treatments as well as entrance to only the inside/outside pools, whirlpool and sauna. They provide towel, robe and flip-flops.

Amazing San Giuliano Terme - an excellent SPA !
They offer a lot of treatments (beauty and curative treatments starting from 40 euro and go up), there are 4 pools with warm water, clean, nice... excellent relaxation ! It was renovated as i understood recently and it is made in the old stile. You fell like you are almost in a Roman Bath.
It is a nice atmosphere. I spend a very nice weekend there.
The cost it is 30 euro per person just to enter and have access to the pools with hot water.
It deserve all the money. They also give you what you need in this money : bath towel, robe, slippers. Apples and water is free, access to wardrobe, hair dryer, ... very civilized. Thermal waters is very good as I understand and felt. It is very good also for rheumatism cures. I have been to several Thermal places in the area, and I can say that San Giuliano Terme deserves most a visited. For a complete cure is required 14 days. It is better to state in their hotel. But it is still nice for a weekend. You can spend a whole day there. There is also a restaurant and a parking with no charge. If you don't stay in their hotel, they usually not allow you to pay just for the pools, they force a little bit your hand to pay a treatment, even the cheapest one, even it is not crowd. They have a doctor who talk a little bit with you, it is free. I don't remember if they have or not wheelchair access. I will definitely come back.

Charming spa and so affordable!! We just came for the day spa package that included 2-50 minute specialty massages, 2-2 course meals, use of all the mineral pools for entire day all for 260 euro. Excellent massage, wonderful lunch in our robes in the restaurant, and loved all the pools!! Couldn't believe we spent 7 hours at the Bagni di Pisa!! Skin has never felt better and SO relaxed! Remember this is an historic elegant building so a little aged but very clean! Would highly recommend and look forward to returning next year!!

I'm from Pisa but i live in the Netherland since 6 years now, i recently visited my hometown and decide to spend a day in Bagni di Pisa. I have to say that was the most relaxing day of the whole holidays, staff is super friendly and always ready to help and take care of you.
The pools are fantastic and the water nicely warm, never too crowded (be sure to book if you want to be sure to get access) and the whole building is very nice and comfortable.

I didn't get any extra service, only plain pool access (including sauna and turkish shower) but my girlfriend got a physiotherapeutic massage and she was very happy.

Only complaint is the bar which is a bit overpriced for the quality but it's really nothing compared to the fantastic time we spent in Bagni di Pisa. Good work fellow citizens!

I went on a Saturday. Judging from the pix, it looked like a luxury spa and worth the 45 Euro. I go there and could already tell the vibe wasn't truly relaxing or luxurious or that the facilities were state-of-the-art. I was not allowed to view the facilities beforehand - big mistake. I would not have gone. It is far from a relaxing environment with dirty changing stalls, old-fashioned lockers in which you deposit 1 Euro to get the key, and shower drains falling apart. The spa is set up like a maze, with two wings being connected by annoying staircases. The relaxation rooms felt like cellars. It was worth no more than 20 or 25 Euro, and I feel completely ripped off.

Facilities are old and a bit dirty. It is hard to navigate from one pool to another one: there is no map and the distances are very long so you could get cold on the way. there is only one small sauna on the very top floor with open terrace, so it also could be cold and windy. The bar is too expensive.

We had a wonderful day at the thermal baths of Pisa. Located in the beautiful town of San Guiliano Terme we felt quite civilised walking between each wonderful pool in our robes, dining in the gorgeous restaurant (also in robes!) and relaxing in the relaxation rooms. We booked in advance and paid only for use of the pools but it was so relaxing and beautiful without any spa treatments. The history and beauty is worth the 40 euros each alone and it was a welcome day of relaxation during our busy honeymoon. Fantastic!
