Majestic 370 year old oak, 22 meters high with a trunk of almost 5 meters located near Pienza, in the heart of Val d'Orcia! It's impossible not to stop and visit it, touch it and breathe it😍
The four of us❤ managed to close the embrace around his trunk, closed our eyes and breathed in all the positive energy he emanated🔝!!

Learned about the old Oak tree while in Pienza and drove by to have a look, and glad that we did. The huge tree with many large branches is a beauty and stands out from the rolling grass covered hillsides around the area. The shade offers a nice respit for a snack or just admiring. Definitely worth a quick visit while nearby in the area. ...

Found on the road and we stopped. Obviously it is not an Attraction from who knows what energy to spend to visit it but, a pleasant stop in on the road of the beautiful Valle d'Orcia. It reflects on the beauty and spectacularity of our nature

Constant Companion and I were returning with our culinary group from a visit to Azienda Agricola Fattoria Pianporcino. "Quercia delle Checche" was on our return so we stopped! The tree itself is not that huge but it is over 300 years old. It is named after the Magpie birds which roost in it regularly. It gained notoriety when it was unfortunately vandalized in 2014 and locals rallied to have the Minister of Cultural Heritage recognize it as a "Living Landmark" in 2017! It probably is not worth going out of your way to view but if nearby it is a quirky little bit of local culture!

Coming from England this tree didn't seem that special. Yes it is big but not that big!

Checche is Italian for magpie because magpies roosted there.
