Castiglioni is placed among the hills to the southwest of Florence in Val di Pesa. The fertile and varied soils are composed of both rock and clay, ideal conditions for the cultivation of the elegant Sangiovese, as well as for the robust and vivacious Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Wonderful lunch experience!
Jul 2019 • Couples
We recently enjoyed a lunch and wine tasting at Tenuta Castiglioni with Franca and her staff. This was absolutely a fantastic experience. Franca was so warm and engaging and gave us a tour through the property and wine cellar. Then we enjoyed the Frescobaldi wines with a delicious lunch. This truly exceeded our expectations. Worth every penny, and then some.

Incredible Tuscany
Jul 2019 • Family
Winery tour & lunch. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. Hosted by Franca, we had a tour of the grounds & 700 year old wine cellars, followed by an amazing 3 course lunch. The food was absolutely beautiful. And the wine... we had a Chardonnay and two classic Tuscan reds. All three were gorgeous. All together a very special and unique experience.

Cannot Say Enough Good Things About
Apr 2019 • Family
Such a nice, welcoming lady who took us on a tour of the estate, with 10 and 12 year old who enjoyed it much, I am sorry to have forgotten her name! All the dining employees were kind and most helpful. It is beautiful here and in April, we had it all to ourselves on a rainy day. We had such a good time,

Fabulous Tour and Tasting
Sep 2018 • Couples
We had a fabulous tour and tasting conducted by Franca. It was amazing to hear of the history of the Frescobaldi family and winemaking journey. Walking the grounds and seeing the breadth of the land was stunning.
The tasting room was elegant and intimate, down to the linen placements and setting. Bravo!

For wine connaisseurs
Apr 2018 • Couples
We pre-organized a visit of the vineyard and a wine tasting. We spent an excellent time there with Franca. We tried 3 wines from Frescobaldi and we really enjoyed them at the point... we bought some :)
We were there with 2 kids and special attention was brought to them so that they also enjoyed the visit.

Wonderful tasting experience and tour
Jun 2017 • Family
This is a beautiful estate and their tours are excellent.

We did several wine tastings/winery tours throughout Tuscany, and each stood out for its own reasons. Tenuta di Castiglioni stood out in two impressive ways: first, the actual wine tasting experience was the best we had. We enjoyed the "Tuscan snack" pairing; we sat at a beautiful table (there were five of us) and were presented not only several excellent wines but also beautiful local meats and cheeses, accompanied by their excellent olive oil and bread.

Second, and I hate to make this second, a 700 year old wine cellar (you read that right) is quite something. It's been redone, but you get a sense of history both in the cellar and throughout the estate, and our guide assisted in that greatly.

Frescobaldi is an industrial wine producer, but they're at pains to show how they're focused on their individual estates and producing high quality wines using traditional techniques.

(Just FYI: tipping is appreciated!)

A wonderful journey in winemaking history
Jul 2016 • Couples
Our visit to the first ever Frescobaldi winery was amazing. An insight in the history of wine making in Tuscany from a family that starter in the 1300...
Our host Ms Franca with her passion for wine and the history of the family showed us around the canteen and wineyard making us take a step back in time. The wine and oil degustation was the icing on the cake of our visit... Accompanied by local cheeses, bread, and honey.
If you're in the vicinity and enjoy wine this is a must see.
