Having come to Tuscany with a group of friends, we were hoping to go on a really good wine tour. However, we had no idea about wine nor where the best place was to learn about it. We contacted Sergio, and he was ready for us the next day. His English is perfect, and can tell you all the interesting and important details about Chianti wines on your way to the vineyard (so that you seem like you know something when you show up). He is most kind, patient and polite, and he can explain things very well. We had the pleasure of visiting 2 amazing vineyards through Sergio's contacts, and had a fantastic lunch (that was included) with amazing Tuscan view in the Chianti Classico region as well. Can only recommend for the price!!

Thank you so much for the kind review. I'm happy the day met your expectations, and wish you to know that I too enjoyed your company. Hopefully there will be another occasion to meet.
Ciao, Sergio.

My wife and I had a great tour with Sergio when we visited Italy in March 2024. We were picked up right on time at the door of our hotel in his van. It was so nice to have a private tour and not loaded onto a bus with 30 other people and waiting throughout the day. Having the tastings and lunch included in the price of the tour made it convenient and also easier to budget for the tour. We visited two wineries on the tour and stopped for lunch in a small village. It really felt like we went to places that locals would go to and got great service from all three places. My wife said the ravioli she got at Ristorante Oltre Il Giardino was her favorite on the whole trip. On the way back to Florence we were able to stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for some great pictures of the city in the afternoon. Sergio was great the whole time explaining the area and the things we were seeing. We had stops during the tour for scenic pictures and to get up-close views of grape vines and olive trees. Everything we did was inline with the description of the tour and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!

Booked this tour for 8 of us and Sergio set us up with Myriam. She picked us up at our air B&b in a large van and we spent the day traveling they the beautiful Tuscan countryside, enjoying wines at two small vineyards and a fabulous lunch at a restaurant in Greve. Both vineyards were lovely and we spent time with the jovial owner at Mauricio Brogioni Winery and tasted some great wine and olive oils and learned a great deal about winemaking from Lorenzo at La Sala Vineyards and tried their 4 niche wines. Lunch was at a beautiful small outdoor spot in Greve under blooming wisteria and the Tuscan landscape all around us. Communication and booking with Sergio was easy and you will be well cared for. A perfect day .

Overall, the views were stunning and the wine was very good. We also had lunch at a small farm, which was lovely. Sergio was always very professional in his communication with us. And, I did appreciate the flexibility for a vegetarian lunch! A couple notable letdowns for us: first, Myriam was not very friendly. She was a bit standoffish, and seemed annoyed when I asked questions. My husband started chuckling because every answer she had was a one word answer, so I just stopped asking. She also smoked very close to the van, so the van smelled like smoke. We were expecting a bottle of water or something for us in the van like tours we have been on before, but there isn’t any—so bring your own. At the lunch, we didn’t pay the owner and got in the car to leave. Myriam said to me sternly, “didn’t you read the email? Look at your email. Lunch isn’t included. You need to pay.” First- I didn’t realize the total cost (tour plus lunch) wasn’t simply paid to her at the end (where the tour pays the lunch place) like typically happens. I knew there was a cost for lunch, but we sat at the table for a while and no one came to get our credit card, so we assumed we were supposed to pay Myriam at the end (which would include the additional lunch added on). Myriam was rude and frankly condescending when she admonished me about the email. All she had to do was simply state, “I’m not sure if you knew, but actually you pay them directly. Sorry for the mixup.” Instead, she harped on it and was not very kind.
The first winery we ordered over $250 worth of wine (shipping is VERY expensive!!!). We still haven’t received it. We were told it could take up to a month, but it’s been over that and UPS doesn’t have an update. The winery Monteronaldi waits for a bunch of shipments and then sends them all out. So plan on it taking 2-3 months if you even see your wine. Two other wineries we visited (not on this tour) sent our wine immediately and we received it 2 weeks later.
So- my recommendation is to take the tour with Sergio maybe, and don’t order any wine to be shipped from the wineries.

Oh dear! It would seem you liked very little about your day with us. I'm particularly sorry to hear you weren't totally satisfied with Myriam.
I have conveyed your comments to Myriam, who offers her sincere apologies if you feel she came across as standoffish or condescending. It was certainly not in her intentions, but she will keep your comments in mind for the future.
However, I care to address the other issues you mention.
Regarding "having" to pay for lunch. Both my proposal and confirmation emails stated clearly that lunch was not included. I also make a point (in bold type) of asking my guests to read the reservation thoroughly.
Maybe you didn't, and I understand. We're all in a hurry and we tend to glance at emails rather than read. Nonetheless, it was clearly stated. Myriam explained this to you for a third time.
As you've mentioned it yet again in this review, it's obvious you still haven't read the reservation.
Regarding the times for the shipment of your wine, you received the shipment 12 days after writing your review, which I concede, is longer than what you had been told.
However, I must object strongly to you stating that the wine may never arrive and advising others not to make purchases for this reason. This directly implies dishonesty on our part. I understand you want to get back at us for a day you weren't happy about, but this is taking things a little too far.
If you read through our reviews, you will see this "problem" has never been brought up before, and this wouldn't be the case if wineries were habitually not sending the products ordered.
On the date you published your review, you had already exchanged emails with the shipping company, and they had given you all the necessary attention. Your "issue" was in fact with US customs.
From time-to-time, Customs will randomly withhold shipments to check that what is declared in the paperwork, corresponds to what is in the packaging. They take their time to do so, and there's nothing we can do to hurry them up. Why do they do this? Well…it's their job.
A further delay was caused when the courier made two attempts to deliver the wine, but no one was present at the address. In fact, they were only able to complete the delivery at the third attempt. The delivery finally took six weeks.
Seeing as you declare that the delivery could take 2-3 months, or not arrive at all, I would have appreciated an update to your review.
However, I'm extremely sorry you feel we didn't give you the perfect day. Should you ever be back in Florence, I'd be most happy to invite you on another tour which I will carry out personally. I will do all I can to change your mind about the quality of our services.

We took 2 wine tours with Myriam March 1 and March 3. Even though the first day was rainy and cold, with light snow at times, Myriam made the tour a lot of fun. She was very knowledgeable about Tuscany. We especially enjoyed the stop in the oldest Tuscan meat market in Greve in Chianti. Then a tour and tasting with excellent explanations at Agricola Monterinaldi. Followed by lunch at a cozy restaurant in Panzano in Chianti - restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. Next a wine tasting at a small vineyard, Maurizio Brogioni. The owner was very friendly.
Our second tour took us to San Gimignano and then a wine pairing lunch at Marronaia Winery. This time we had cool but sunny weather. Myriam stopped at scenic spots for my husband to take photos. The walled village was beautiful with a number of high quality shops. The 4 curse winery lunch was wonderful, especially since our table was next to a fireplace, nice on a cold day. We especially liked their Vernaccha wine. We learned many facts from Myriam and really admired the way she maneuvered the large van through the narrow Florence streets on the way back to our hotel.
We had a great time and highly recommend Scenic Wine Tours in Tuscany.

A huge thank you to Sergio, Myriam and Maurizio for an absolutely amazing trip for our family. We had one of our best days in Italy enjoying the wineries, delicious food, and receiving historical information from our awesome hosts! We had 9 family members on this trip both Vans were air conditioned and clean and very comfortable.
We are on our second order of wine shipped to us from one of the vineyards we went to which was off the charts great! This is a trip we would 100% do again and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Italy. Sergio had great communication with us throughout our planning process, they are very reliable, on time and well worth every penny we spent!

Sergio made our 40th Wedding Anniversary Trip Extra Special. If you are thinking of a private wine tour day, I would highly recommend this trip. Do not, I repeat do not do a bus tour. You will be glad you went on a private tour to stay away from crowded places. And we could not be happier that we chose this tour with Sergio. The Graham's. Ohio. USA.

Our private tour with Sergio will be unforgettable always! He was right on time for pickup in Florence, and drove up through the Chianti regions with information on everything in sight. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a heart of gold. My (now fiancé) was planning our tour for months, and Sergio knocked it out of the park. He ensured we had the best scenery for a proposal, and made our day so special. I will never consider another tour guide for future trips to this region of Italy. Truly a special day all thanks to you, Sergio! Thank you thank you!

Our day with Myriam, on the Scenic wine tours in Tuscany, exceeded all expectations. The wineries included were unparalleled, each with its own unique charm. The second winery, in particular, was hands down the best cellar tour and tasting we've ever had. Myriam's deep knowledge and genuine warmth added a special touch to the day. The lunch was among the finest we've savored in Italy, and the location was breathtaking. With the convenience of being picked up right from our doorstep in Florence, it was undeniably our most memorable day in the Italy. A toast to Myriam for making it extraordinary! 🍷🍽️🌄

We had a great day with Sergio in Chianti! He took us to two wonderful vineyards, and his lunch recommendation was perhaps the best meal of our 10 days in Italy. Regardless of your knowledge of wine, you will enjoy the tour. Sergio was a wealth of information about the region, and the wine too- of course! We really enjoyed his company and hearing his insights, and also enjoyed the difference in the vineyards he selected- one small, boutique property and one slightly more commercial, bigger production. We only had one day in Chianti, and felt like we had a well rounded experience and saw as much as we possibly could in this short period of time. We hope to be back!

Good morning. My friend and a I will be visiting the area next month and are staying in Arezzo...do you pick up from there? Also, we are interested in going to San Gimignano..is this something you do as well? Thank you
Written April 20, 2018
Hello Janet, I'm fully booked for May, but I can organize a tour to San Gimignano with one of my partners. We're based in Florence but there are alternatives for Arezzo. The best one is to catch the morning train to Florence and start the tour from there. Kindest regards, Sergio.

Good afternoon! Myself and my partner plan on staying at the Villa Cassia di Baccano, in the village of San Giustino Valdarno in the later end of the May. Do you take bookings from this area at all? Thank you ever so much in advance, Jake
Written April 12, 2018
Hello Jake, thank you for your welcome request. Yes all my trips are available from San Giustino Valdarno. I only have a few dates left at the end of May, the sooner you contact me the better. Take a look at my site and let me know your preference for a tour.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards, Sergio.

Hello,
Me and my family will be in Sansepolcro at the end of August.
Do you serve this area? and if you do, how many people can you transport (we have a large group) and what is the cost per person?
Thanks
Nicole
Written April 9, 2018
Hello Nicole,
Thank you for your welcome request, but unfortunately I don't think I can help you. I'm based in Florence and it's quite a drive to Sansepolcro. I would have to ask you a rather high fee. Also my vehicle seats a maximum of seven. I don't know anyone from the area, but try doing searches for wine tours from the surrounding towns. If you don't come up with anything let me know and I'll give you a quote, for two vans if necessary. Thanks so much for contacting me. Kindest regards, Sergio.

Hello, thank you for your welcome request.
You didn't mention when you would like to do the tour. I'm booked for the coming week, but I can arrange your day with one of my partners, and I'm personally available for some dates later on.
I'd be happy to propose my "Valdorcia & Brunello Wine Tasting Tour." The tour is strictly private (the minivan will be for yourselves only), with numerous stops for photos and sightseeing. Pick up is directly from your accommodation.
The fee is €180 per person (4 participants = total of €720) including wine tasting and all travel costs from Greve.
Your wine tour of Tuscany (approx eight hours door to door) is inclusive of:
* Pick up and drop off directly from your accommodation.
* Scenic tour with stops for photos of Tuscany's most famous landscapes.
* Private tasting of highly rated Brunello, Brunello Reserve, and Rosso di Montalcino.
* Guided tour of a prestigious family winery.
* Visits and free time to tour the towns of Pienza & Montalcino.
* Recent model minivan with AC
Lunch isn't included, but I will suggest excellent inexpensive restaurants on the day.
No further extras are required.
I don't require a deposit, but I'd appreciate cash on the day.
ATM's are be easily found, and change very close to the official rate.
If you would like to book your tour, all I require is a short mail of confirmation, and please include your accommodation address. I will then send you a reservation confirming the date, pick up time from your accommodation, and fee as quoted.
Thank you once again, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards, Sergio.
