We headed out to Scesta and Bagni di Lucca off the back of a recommendation by our tour guide the previous day in Lucca at the Torre del Oro. We stopped at Canyon Park to see what it was all about, as we'd heard of it but hadn't realised it was a full adventure offering! We could hear whoops of delight as groups of people whizzed about on the zip wires, set up high above the crystal clear waters below, turning shades of sapphire blue and emerald green in the shafts of sunlight coming through the canopy of trees overhead. We walked down to the 'beach', which provides the perfect spot for some sunbathing or swimming) before heading off in search of some lunch and vowing to return later in the afternoon for some paddleboarding. We returned at about 3:15pm and booked a paddleboarding slot for 4pm, with the staff all being very friendly and helpful. The paddleboarding experience gives you free rein to explore the 300m canyon at your leisure, with the ability to hop off and swim should you wish, as well as take a drink from the incredible, fresh mountain water that trickles into the gorge. Overall, a very relaxing and rewarding experience, and a place we will definitely revisit for the full climbing / zip wire package when we go back next year!

Stunning setting for paddle boarding with the most beautiful crystal clear blue water you could ever see. Everything was ready for us when we arrived, we booked on line and paid at the venue. Very friendly and helpful staff and after a short briefing we were ready to go. Suitable for all abilities and you get a whole hour to explore the canyon on your own. The only reason not to give 5 stars is the canyon is much shorter than we expected, 200 metres long and a couple of the life vests were a bit smelly, but once they were wet it was ok. Please go if you like peace and tranquility you will not be disappointed. One of our Tuscan holiday highlights for sure.

Hi Julie, Thank you very much for this review and details given! It’s right the canyon is not too long, but inside the section you are visiting there are so many things to see and do it will take one full hour to visit . Thank you for pointing this out. Life vests are sanitized with certified anti-Covid solutions and the smell at the beginning can be felt, we are sorry for this. As soon as they get wet , as mentioned, everything goes back to normal. Thank you very much for proposing Canyon Park as a holiday highlight , we are so grateful for this! Ciao e grazie !!

The zip line is certainly the best I ever did. It takes place directly I a little canyon which makes the event absolutely spectacular. The event takes approximately 1,5 to 2 hours. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the equipment is new and in excellent condition.

I booked this activity with only a few days notice as something to do as a family of three with a 13-year-old son. We got there an hour earlier so that we could go to the river beach and have a swim/jump into the water from the rocks. The car park is a 10 minute walk to canyon park beach and activity centre. The setting is idyllic And the water was crystal clear but freezing In August! Our son loved jumping off the rocks into the water but it was too cold for us! After a trek back to the car to get changed we then went to zip lining. We were the only English family in the group however the guides were fantastic and translated everything for us. It took us two hours to do the activity and we loved it all! The only disappointing thing was that we were at the back of the group so we spent a lot of the time waiting for others. The group was too big and he could only go at the speed of the slowest. A staggered start would help this in future. We would highly recommend this activity. We felt very safe in our harnesses, helmets and gloves. Thanks guys!!

Hi Chris and thank you so much for this rewarding review! We love receiving feed backs from foreigners and Brits in particular since you always provide useful information for other readers. And this is no exception. We are glad to know you had fun and loved the location and activity. We are sorry if the group was slow, in this period there are many visitors and when some of them are late a group may exceed its planned size. We reveal a behind the scene and we are not able to understand why it was not applied to you. As a standard procedure we put foreigners as front runners, we keep Italians back. If you are behind a classic Italian family it would take weeks getting off the course (you know ... we take it quite easy, no rush, no sweat). So we are sorry if once we did not enforce the rule. Thank you so much for your kind words and please do not tell any Italian about this trick!!! ;-) Have a good day!
