Magical and particular place, a cave with access to half a coast and that winds inside the mountain between climbs and descent to meet again towards the sea. The Guide explained the story and its characteristics in detail. An hour of sightseeing that passes pleasantly and the girls were charmed by the many natural pools of water.

Little did I know that caves could be so stunning! Supposedly one of the most interesting caves in the Mediterranean, and a beautiful sight. Remember to bring your camera (but no flash). Maybe not the best place for young children and those not able to walk stairs. You can only reach Grotta del Fico by boat. At arrival, they have a "shuttle boat" that will help you tie up to a mooring buoy and transport you to the entrance.

We visited it as part of our boat trip with fuorirotta charter. It was optional but we found it well worth the visit. The last refuge of the monk seal up until 20y ago. Very knowledgeable guide who conducted the tour in both English and Italian. Lasts 45min and beautiful concretions to look at long with fresh water streams. Nice to cool down in the cave in the midst of a hot day !

We came here as part of an excursion on our boat tour. Well worth a visit. The guide we had was extremely knowledgeable and spoke to us both in English and Italian. It's a lovely escape from the heat for an hour or so.Highly recommend.

We paid 65euros each, including lunch, for a wonderful days visit to this beautiful coast. The boat left Arbatax at 8.30am, with around 60 passengers. The little bar was available all day for coffees, sorbets and snacks.
We passed the cluster of islands, which are a sanctuary for birds and stopped at Santa Maria Navaresse at 9am to pick up a few more people. Even with our new cargo there was still plenty of seating and lots of room to spread out and watch the sandy beaches and pine woods to slip past us on this fist leg of the cruise.
After SMN the sands give way to scrub covered hillsides with towering cliffs behind them. Gradually the cliffs take over and just become more and more imposing with sheer limestone walls pock marked with caves and bands of colouration and shade. The boat slowed but did not stop to show us the beach of Cala Goloritze and then we pressed on, past more impressive cliffs and gorges until we Reached Cala Mariolu where the water sparkled with an impossible range of colours. Many people went on to the beach for 2 hours of roasting in paradise, but we stayed on board to visit Grotto del Fico. The caves are a short distance further North and cost an additional 8 euros to enter, which includes use of an audio guide in your preferred language.
The caves are nicely lit to show off the multitude of features and the cool air was very welcome after the glaring sun. The visit lasts about 40 minutes and the the boat takes you back to Cala Mariolu for an hours sunbathing and swimming.
After leaving the beach, we were summoned to take our reserved table in the cabin for lunch, which consisted of a selection of antipasti, Fregola with seafood, cake, watermelon and wine or water. The lunch was better and more substancial than I had expected, not gourmet quality, but very enjoyable and pretty fair value for the 20 euros extra we had paid above the non-lunch option of 45euros.
After lunch we had around 90 minutes each on Cala Luna and Cala Sisine both of which are pretty decent beaches with bar and toilet facilities, sunbed and snorkel hire etc.
The boat has a retractable gang plank that makes boarding and disembarking a very easy event, the crew were very pleasant and helpful and a fee announcements in both Italian and English want we knew what we were seeing or supposed to be doing very easy.
Timings were spot on and we arrived back at Arbatax around 6.30pm sun dried and happy.
This was a very well organised and executed day out and should not be missed.

Glad we got off the boat to have a look inside. Not the biggest cave, but very accessible, the guide was friendly, the cave cat kept us company! 8 eur entrance fee. Photos OK, no flash allowed.

Great experience for anybody. It is pricy for a family of 4 so be sure to bring money with you. Only accessible by using boats with personnel, don't try to go on your own.

Great place with beautifull people, for a nice visit on any summer day. The last home of Seals in Cerdegna. Just park your Zodiac (Gomonni) and Franco or any one from his team will pick you up!!

Amazing. Even just getting to this place is incredible - we hired a boat and sailed over and then took some steps up to the cliff - an exciting adventure from the very beginning.
The cave is incredible - lots too see and just mindblowing. As a former geologist too I was in awe the entire time.
Great value for money and a great alternative to the incredibly busy other cave nearby.

Ça me perturbe...

Buona visita
