This had long been a bucket list beach for me to see. We went at the end of June. Yes the water is absolutely gorgeous, however, the boats coming and going big and large just constantly stir up the bottom and makes it a hazy...More

We rented boat for a day, and waisted almost every beach in cala Gonone. If we didn't stopped I saw it. So I can tell you this is the most amazing beach there. Cala Luna is magical, but it is more commercial and full of...More

This is the beach to go to by boat in the Golfo di Orosei. Located in the wild wild Sardinia this is a stunning place. Amazing crystal clear blue water. The presence of white rocks near to the beach give its unique beauty.

You need to rent a boat to access the beach, but this is worthwhile. We have enjoyed the clear water and the beauty of the place. The water temperature was still pleasant in October.

A must see in life. You will never forget this uncontaminated, wild, hidden gem of Sardinia. Colours change from the pink- cream beach to light blue and green of the deep clear water. This is true natural beauty and wilderness at its best. I visited...More

I think there is no closer place. And I think it is the best option to stay in cala Gonone and go with the boat to the Cala Mariolu because it is not far away. If you know how to drive a boat it is perfect.

My Trip Report (5 Replies)
We just got home from a wonderful trip to Sardinia and I thought I'd share my trip report in case it is helpful for others planning their trips. I wish there were a way to share photos on here- I'm a photographer and took so many!! We are a family of 4 and our daughters are 8 and 10. Days 1- 3: Rome with friends Day 4: We flew from Rome to Olbia and then drove a little over 2 hours to our rental villa in Lanusei that I found on airbnb. It was absolutely stunning and spacious and the...More

Forgot to add that we used Sardinya for our rental car- no problem at all. We paid $$$ because we needed an automatic but all worked out well and they were very nice and had short lines at Olbia airport. IMO a car is an absolute MUST on the island. We would have had a very different experience if we hadn't had a car.

Cala Mariolu beach from Alghero (2 Replies)
Hello all, We'd really like to visit Cala Mariolu beach on our trip to Sardinia next month. We will be staying in Alghero - any idea how we could get there using public transport? We won't be hiring a car and so public transport/ private hire are our only options I think. Thank you!
