We just returned. Our family of 6 did private cruise for €200 all inclusive and given the number of people on the beaches even this price was too much.
The beach may be nice but the experience is totally ruined by crowds being delivered by numerous boats from Cala Gonone.

Often overcrowded (not by Italian standards, but we are very used to it), full of boats and quiet. Very picturesque in terms of landscape, but it is not suitable for surfing or snorkelling, because there are no waves and the marine fauna is limited. The water is blue, but it depends more on the seabed; we have this myth that it is synonymous with cleanliness, but the Mediterranean remains the most polluted sea in the world together with the Baltic and the Gulf of Mexico. On an off-season day, without people and boats, it is well worth the visit, but don't expect dramatic landscapes like the Naples Coast or Nisa Penida.

Definitely an experience to do the boat tour Cala Mariolu / Cala Luna / Cala Biriola stay of about an hour and a half at the beach. We chose the boat Max 12 people that also allows you to take two baths at anchor at the Pools of Venus and in front of Cala Goloritze as well as entering the various caves that there are on the coast. Cost between 50/60 euros no need to book just arrive at the port of Cala Gonone in 9 hours Max 10. There are various sheds that offer services for both large boats , dinghies to share and dinghies for single excursions both with and without skipper.

Paradise on Earth: every summer I return to Ogliastra and stop at the characteristic beaches of the coast of Baunei. Every year the emotion is the same: it seems to be in paradise.
Although Sardinia is rich in beautiful beaches, the thrill of swimming in crystal clear waters, raising your head and admiring a majestic rocky ridge overlooking the sea, is only given by the Costa di Baunei.
The colors of Cala Mariolu are unmistakable.

It was voted the second most beautiful beach in the world and I understand why.

Particularly in recent years visitors have increased, but also the attention in controls and the quota of accesses.
In the beach you can not stay for more than a certain time (reduced), unless you reach it by land.
It is true that, especially in high season, there can be crowded, but being the first most beautiful beach in Europe it is right that everyone can enjoy it and it is nice to see that there are those who come from all over the world just to be able to admire a pearl of Casa Nostra!

We have been to this wonderful beach more than once by sea, but the last one was the best in my opinion....
We tackled the trek both on the outward and return journey, I must say that it was hard but it was worth it... The glimpses of the panorama and the final arrival on the beach made it all worthwhile for us, well aware of the climb we had to face on the way back .
We recommend tackling this trek (for expert hikers) with the right equipment, and not to take it lightly. There are some sections of the route that are quite exposed.
We will definitely be back, maybe a little more trained 🤪🤪

Beach that we discovered during an inflatable boat trip in a small group of 8 people in the Gulf of Oresei. Of course this beach is magnificent, just like the others accessible only by boat, but what a shame to distort these pretty places with these boats which pour tourists for an hour for an express swim. The charm is no longer the same with these incessant return trips of boats of all sizes...It would be good to limit the number of boats and the number of people to preserve the interest of these pretty coves but that's it. is another story...we are in May and I can't imagine what it must be like in summer! otherwise the walk in the gulf remains magnificent 🤩

This hidden cove, nestled within the Baunei coastline, is a true gem waiting to be discovered. Our tour provided a convenient and enjoyable way to experience Cala Mariolu. Reaching the beach by boat allowed us to appreciate the beauty of the coastline from a different perspective. Cala Mariolu is a small beach, so it can get crowded during peak season. However, the limited accessibility helps to preserve its pristine beauty.

The place is stunning, one of the best beaches of Sardinia. However, due social network influencer and reel bouncing, the beach is very overcrowded and it is impossible get pleasure from the place. Many people arrive by boat and even finding a spot to place tour stuff can be a nightmare.

Thousands of people, bars, baptism of the sea with tanks (underwater), have transformed an earthly paradise into a playground with thousands of people huddled together.... In all this there is not even *1* chemical bath.... Absurd and unacceptable in 2024. Natural baths for those who just can not do without hidden among the rocks with related smells and paper residues and all the rest.
It should be put to a limited number or at least there should be minimum toilets.

Beautiful beach, characteristic, sea with unparalleled shades.... Ma troppo troppo affollata! One dinghy after another they leave people on the beach, too much dirt around..
access should be restricted!
To be the most beautiful beach in Europe 2024.... Much better the nearby Cala Birìala
