My husband and I spent 3 hours on this train and we went to a monastery, a great restaurant were we sampled mozzarella and red wine and then went and tasted limecello. The views were amazing and it was a lovely way to see the local area. The monastery had the most fantastic photo opportunity. The mozzarella sampling was delicious and we brought some amazing olive oil and marmalade, tasting lemicillio was intresting as we had some flavours I did not expect. Our tour guide was very funny and had a lot of knowledge of the area. It was my favourite day trip. I deffently recommend.

I would say this is a must do! Only 20 euros for nearly 3 hours of fun. The driver is extremely funny and entertaining, we went to the monastery and up the tower to fabulous 360 degree views of the area, then along the coast to a restaurant overlooking the bay of Naples to taste olive oils, marmalades and mozzarella, with a glass of wine, and finally back along the coast to Terminalli, where we had a spectacular view of Capri and went to a tiny distillery to taste limoncello and eat chocolates. Absolutely wonderful.

Just one of the most pleasant and fun tours I have ever enjoyed anywhere. Ciro our driver was so enthusiastic it was positively infectious. Our tour included a taste of local food and drink produce and a tour away from Sorrento around the gulf area with a chance to see local life. For a 2-3 hour trip it was well worth it on experience and price. Our fellow passengers engaged in the light hearted nature of the trip when on the move so the entertainment was ongoing.

An unforgettable three-hour trip. We first visited the monastery to climb the tower and see the bays on both sides of the peninsula with a 360-degree view. Next off to an absolutely stunning restaurant with its own little church for food tasting (no hard sell but could purchase the products): honey, marmalade, olive oil and a small taster of red wine. The piece de resistance was the limoncello factory: we had tasters of normal limoncello, limoncello with coffee, cream limoncello liquer and cream melon liquer. Great commentary throughout and a lovely amble along the country roads. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

This was an excellent little trip, we were picked up at the hotel in the train and drove up in to the Sorrento hills. The driver Ciro was crackers, he was hilarious, his little saying toot toot was so funny. You visit a monastery , where the views are amazing, then off to the next village to taste cheese, marmalade, jams and olive oil. Next village to taste limoncello and chocolates. Simply hilarious, the driver was tooting at everyone, people waving in the villages. I think he was extra crackers as this was his last train trip of the season.

If you want a great laugh, great driver, local village visits, little tasters of local produce and a great time for 25 euros each then get on board this train tour!! We booked it through our hotel and along with our two teenagers we had a ball. Just so much fun. Three hours long, total bargain. Choo choo !! I'm still laughing at our driver who made it great.

Put this trip on your list! It is honestly so much fun. Driven by the wonderful Ciro, who everyone in the area seems to know, you are driven through spectacular scenery to a variety of beautiful locations. The first stop is a monastery which you climb the stairs to an amazing view. Then on to a little restaurant where you stop for the tasting, it is in the most beautiful setting, Ciro says it is popular for weddings and I can see why! Finally, on to a limoncello factory where you will meet the maker and sample a range of different liqueurs.
The star of the show though is Ciro who will entertain you no end, "Choo, choo!"

We went on the little blue train two years ago and loved it, so on returning to San Agata, we thought we would try it again, what a disappointment, the original man that ran it with such joy and vigour has gone to be replaced by a company , I think.
It was very difficult to understand the tour guide and the places that you visit had changed, we still did the limoncello factory and the convent, but the farm that we visited was not a patch on the little restaurant we visited last time.
Also the tour had no atmosphere and we could not wait until it finished, at the end it seemed like a taxi dropping us off at different hotels, what a shame the original one had been so good.

Cannot rate this experience highly enough, the driver makes the trip great fun. It’s good value for money, you get to see the 360 views at the monastery, sample local Mozzarella, tomatoes and Bruschetta (take cash if you want to buy the produce). Then on to a Lemoncello tasting, explains the process of making Lemoncello and the other drinks like meloncello, really reasonably priced and wrapped well to get them home. Drive around the Masa Lubrense coast with gorgeous views of Capri & the coast

Absolutely brilliant train ride! The driver Ciro was fantastic, explained everything well and was great fun. The view from the top of the tower was fabulous, and the food and limoncello were tasty, the limoncello was excellent value, we bought 3 bottles to bring home. Would highly recommend this trip!

They have a website and I believe you can book it through there. We were staying nearby in a Hotel via TUI and our rep booked our tickets with them.
It picks up at St Agata village opposite the petrol station as you go out of the village. It’s a great trip and worth doing.

Hi does it run every day & do you have to book or just turn up for 10am?
Written September 15, 2019
I would highly recommend that you book this trip. It gets very busy. Your hotel should be able to help. I believe it runs twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Does it go from hotel Jaccarino?
Written September 12, 2019
The pick up and drop off point is by the bus station in Sant Agata. There may be a shuttle bus from your hotel that will take you to the pick up point though.

Scusate, dove si trova il capolinea del trenino?

I think they would be bored to be honest which is a shame because the train is cute...

I’m staying in Sorrento, does the train tour start in Sant’Agata? If so will I need to make my own way there first?
Written August 14, 2018
The little train starts in S.Agata but as someone else has said it does a tramsfer service from Sorrento hotels to S.Agata. Tourist Info.office or your hotel should be able to assist you with booking. It's a wonderful 3 hours & amazingly good value.
Written August 15, 2018
Can you book this direct from Sorrento?
Written August 4, 2018
I'm sorry I don't know as we booked at the Tourist Info. office in Santa Agata, but your hotel should be able to help, or the T.I,.office in Sorrento. It really is a very good scenic 3 hours worth with lots of delicious tasters in between and no pressure whatsoever to purchase.

Where is the starting point?
Thank you
Written July 25, 2018
Where did you book the train, and where do you get it from please?
we'll be staying at Hotel Sant Agata.
Thanks in advance.

There's a little tourist info.office in the main street, v.helpful. Booked the little train there, 20euros each and well worth it for 3 hour trip. We also booked lovely boat trip to Amalfi, and Positano stop on the way back.
