We were able to walk from our hotel and visit the site. My wife and I roamed the grounds taking it all in and loved reading the headstones and plaques.

Very interesting site, though out of season, you might not find the church open, which is a pity. Very well preserved monastic crosses.

Very few places exist in Ireland today with such good examples of monastic crosses, especially of this size and quality. Take an extra 30 mins out to stop by here on your journey through Kells and wonder in awe at the size of these crosses.

We happened on this attraction slightly by accident. We were attracted to the round tower and were pleasantly surprised to find so many of our High Crosses in one location.

Having seen The Book of Kells at Trinity College, we were anxious to see the site where The Book was held for centuries. We were surprised to see that the site is largely vacant on a weekday, and disappointed that we couldn’t go into the...More

We drove quite some distance to see the Giant crosses. Once there it was a little underwhelming. Could have had some information posted up but we didn't see any.The crosses are, understandably, somewhat worn but still glad to say that we went there.

This is a must see for tourists and visitors to Kells in Co Meath. Kells has so much history to it and this monastic site is one of the most popular places to visit.
