Played today in windy yet pleasant conditions. Have to say it was a lovely course and a great walk, and the scenery was fabulous. However, as the title suggests, the greens were woeful. Just so so slow and a waste of time reading a put. In saying that, we managed to get a fourball for 40 euro pp, and don't... More

We played Lahinch, Ballybunion, Waterville, Tralee, Old Head & Doonbeg. Doonbeg was the best by far. Great course, beautiful facilities, a wonderful manor house that has a great restaurant, pub etc. & the staff was second to none. If you're going to Ireland, make sure you spend a day or two at Doonbeg. The only drawback is that the village... More

Any golfer will love this. They may not love the scorecard when they are done as this course is not kind to those that don't hit the fairway regularly. The starter laughed when I told him I had 5 golf balls in my bag. Not enough ammunition he muttered. Boy was he right. The rough is impenetrable. If you do... More

Played with friends 12th October to say greens were bad is an understatement. 70 euro green fees 7 is too expensive. Don't bother playing it's farcical how they allow this course to be open. Get your act together doonbeg. Total disappointment!!!

We played Doonbeg Golf club, October 5th, the course was in terrible shape, there was maintenance of the course, continually. The greens were running probably running 3 on the stimp. Caddies, not that helpful. much better courses you can spend your money on.

One great day in Ireland. Played one of the best courses in the world with a caddy in 3 hours. The course was in perfect condition and the day was cloudy with 49 - 58 degrees

We visited Doonbeg Lodge for my wife's birthday in 2013 and rented one of their luxury apartments. The resort was very smart and we'll run and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was very ordinary and not up to the standard we were expecting in fact very ordinary, just average golf club fare.First morning at breakfast I ordered bacon and eggs... There's absolutely nothing that my wife and I could fault... The course was in excellent condition and, although the greens were running slow this turned into a benefit once the winds picked up and started to gust at 40mph plus !! We played on a day where we enjoyed fine weather and moderate winds until about the 5th hole. Then... More

Played a 4ball on a slightly windy day, the course is challenging and interesting. The new greens are slow but true and will no doubt be good when they settle in. Pace of play was acceptable and the paths around the course are exceptionally good. We ate in the clubhouse afterwards which also was good. Definitely worth the visit!
