I had an excellent time at the complex. There is a big part for spa and several sauna's. The complex is very clean and well organised, staff was friendly. In the garden and the some of the sauna's your can see and hear the sound of the river, it's very relaxing. I was there on a saturday: there was a good mix of young and old people. It was busy but not crowded.
Good to know: you need swimwear for the 'spa' part (the pools), at the sauna part swimwear is not allowed.

3 of us in our family from England with no german language skills visited Emser Therme on July 13th 2014. The lady on reception was very helpful. She personally took the time to show us how the locker works and the wrist bands. The experience was great.A variety of pools at varying temperatures and a nice atmosphere. Couple of tips which may seem obvious to those that visit pools often but 1. make sure you have some sort of rubber sandals as you will need these when moving from pool to pool. 2. take your own towels or share or buy cheap ones as its 5 euros to hire one towel.

The place is ok and very relaxed atmosphere. Not too crowded so nice place to spend your free time. However, during my 3 visits, every time I saw conflict with customers. I thought it was a coincidence but believe me it is not! After an old, probably 70 year old man reported us that we were not “swimming right”, the lady (if you could call her that) in charge came over and directly threatened us with “haus verbot”. She had no interest in investigating who is right. I asked her what is the right way to swimm but she did not answer, just keep saying we will be thrown out. Mind you, we were not jumping or being rude or anything, just swimming (in a designated swimming area!). When I mentioned that I will report her to her boss, she just laughed. Clearly this person has no place dealing with customers. Such arogant, rude and unfriendly service is completely unacceptable for this kind of establishment. I will go out of my way to spread the word of this awful experience and your employee. If you are not german and over 60 years old, this is not a place for you. There are a lot of better places in the are where you can get a better deal and avoid arogant and rude business model. Avoid this swimming pool where swimming is not allowed! P.S. Food quality is on the level of local fast food shop. Avoid this place at all costs!

Went last month to see facility after total make over. First impression was ok.
Entering the changing area took a while, cause people don't quite know how to use bracellet system, so couple ahead of us took a good bit of time to figure how it works.

Finding locker and place to change is a challenge, takes around 5min. Extremally children unfriendly. No signs showing where Family cabins are, so we stuck in tiny qubicle with our 1year old.
Not to mention that there is no Baby Changing Facility (asked staff). I had to change my 1 year old on the floor of the cabin!!! Joke! It's 21st century, even gasolines have one!

Thems itself are nice, very modern, I can imagine that people might have a nice time there.

On the way out, same difficulties, had to q to family changing facility, change child on the cold tiled floor, then had to wait to use hairdriers (well in January you don't want to rush with wet head to parking - which is good bit of walk outside, no corridor or connection to main bulding).

After all the stress another q to check out gate, Family with 4 kids ahead of us couldnt cope with bracellets again. Finally someone of front desk came to help them out.
Got to the finish line, when it turned out that we were 11minutes late!!! And therefore we are due some amount. I couldn't believe the additiude!!!!!!
If weren't stopped by lack of changining facilities we wouldn't be late. Anyhow, terrible front desk, very very unfriendly. I think people should be charge for using therm itself, if you pay for 2 hours, it should be for using pools and other rooms, rather then paying for stucking in changing rooms.

If place is not fit and designed for kids and do not cater for Families, kids shouldn't be let in at first place.
No courtesy time what so ever. With 2 or 3hours stay there should be at least 15min!!
Bottom line is, it was such a stressfull experience what we will never be back again and neither will any of people that came with us.

I recently enjoyed 3 weeks at 3 different mineral springs in Germany, namely Baden-Baden, Bad Bergzabern, and Bad Ems. The hotels often give a discount card to guests which allows them one hour free each day at the baths. The woman I rented an apartment through at the information centre in town, forgot to give me a card on the first date of arrival and I asked at the Emser Therme, if they could give me one hour for the previous day since it wasn't my fault I wasn't given the card when I arrived. The manager said a flat out no. She could easily have even verified what I told her but it was more important to her to be strict with business and take my money than to make a customer, dropping 300 euros in 2 weeks, happy. While I enjoyed all the baths, my prference was Baden-Baden. It has a very friendly, romantic feel to it, evenings, it's just beautiful. Emser baths each area is more purposeful but the design is not as unifying and you can't swim outdoors from the indoor pool.. Shame that they didn't put a hot tub out by the sauna on the Löhr River. Bad Bergzabern was very nice with blue mirrors on the ceiling and lighting was awesome.

Very modern, very nice, loads of stuff to do, to relax in, all kinds of different saunas (be aware, Germans do their saunas in the nude!), right next to the river with a lovely view, enthusiastically recommended.

This sauna complex is a very clean one. The sauna's are what you can expect from the German quality standards. The staff is ok, the food is fine. The "Aufguss" was done by some young staff members. All though it was obvious they where not very experienced, they did it pretty well.
When im in the area I probably will come back when I have the time.

I visited the Emser Therme for 1 afternoon during the christmas holidays. It was a wonderful experience. The entire spa is new, beautiful and clean. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I loved the rain field, the Sidroga steam-bath and the outside pool of 34°C, especially the whirlpool in the middle as well as the salt inhalation room. The food at restaurant Halberts is delicious. I appreciate the fact that there is a range of vegetarian dishes. There are plenty of chairs to rest and the view outside is lovely. I also liked the sauna park, the sauna with a view on Lahntal is absolutely wonderful. One can hear the water streaming in the background. There is a lounge with an open hearth and a reading corner with a very peaceful ambience. I also had an Abhyanga massage, which felt like heaven. The price for a day ticket is really low, only 24€. It’s nice to see entire families having so much fun in the spa. In the evening, there was a pleasant water gymnastics class. Thank you very much for the lovely experience. I miss it already and hope to come back next year!
